Don Hunter (owner of HP Automotive) has been our family mechanic for over 20 years. He has always been very honest and fair with us, and in my experience, has never "screwed up" anything on any of the cars I have brought to him over the years. He has worked on Hondas, Mazdas, Subarus, and Toyotas for me, all with equal skill and competence. When I was looking for a cheap used car and couldn't find anything out there that was mechanically sound, Don referred me to an honest place that I ended up buying a car from - and 2 years later I was able to sell it for almost the same price! I have tried taking my cars to other mechanics (i.e. when I lived far enough away to make coming to Denver kind of a pain) but have been disappointed by the service I have received elsewhere. At this point I won't take my car anywhere else but to Don. He comes highly recommended by me and my family.

We have been going to Don for 15 or 20 years with Dodges, Fords and Chevrolets. I had a 1998 Olds Cutlass which I really liked. About a year ago I started having trouble with the check engine light coming on and it acted like it was going to stall (which it never did). Don ran the diagnostic and fixed what it said was wrong. It didn't work so he replaced or repaired anything, one by one, he thought might be wrong, even going on line to other mechanics for help. It still did the same thing. He charged me for the parts but since that was so expensive (and possibly because we had been customers for so long)and did not fix the problem, he did not charge me for the labor and he must have spent at least four or five hours on it. We now live about 20 miles from his shop, but if my car is drivable, I still go there for my work. And I traded in the Olds. P.S. The address is 6505 West Alameda Ave. Unit B

I have been taking all my cars to Don and his staff for at least 15 years now. Once I met him it was clear that he would be my go to mechanic. He is knowledgeable and explains his findings in detail, and gives reasonable recommendations. He is not out to oversell his services and his prices are as reasonable as I have ever found. He occasionally will do a quick check on a car for me at no charge. This is a shop you can absolutely trust. I think word is getting out because his shop is always busy, so I am happy for his success. You cannot go wrong with HP Automotive, thanks Don and your staff!
