We took our 1999 Subaro Forester to these guys to get an estimate for repairs that bring the car into good working order for our teen aged daughter. We knew there were some major issues; brakes and the airbags needed attention. We estimated ~ 3 grand. Silly us, they gave us an estimate of 6 thousand dollars! There were quite a few things listed that were not a problem. (EX: timing belt that had been replaced 20,000 miles earlier. Battery that was 6 months old.) We had pretty much decided to purchase a "new" used Forester if the estimate was more than 3,000 and looked at their inventory. We found a 2006 that was a good fit and drove it home. A week after the warranty expired the check engine and cruise control lights came on. They did a diagnostic and we went home with a $150 gas cap (diagnostic, labor, and parts). A month later the lights were back on, we went home with a new HEPA filter for the ventilation system. Another $150. Last week guess what? The lights are back on. We are going to some research online and find another mechanic. I don't know if these guys are incompetent or are padding repair costs. I would not recommend them.
