We brought in a '95 Ford Explorer 4wd to the shop because it was making an annoying noise from the front when moving. A dealer ('nuff said) thought it was the front axle and differential. The shop thought that was bogus and that it might be the bearings. Turned out to be the tires - two of them which were making the noise. Here's the real reason why I recommend Autotailer. They said we would probably have to pay for the bearing - even if it was not the answer. However, he was a reasonable guy and took care of the return. Also, they were very fair and reasonable with their charges for the work - some of which did not result immediately in a fix. Finally, he doesn't have a boat.

Brent has to be the most honest guy in the business anywhere. He makes a point of never fixing anything he can't prove is broken, stands 100% behind his work, takes the time to explain your options, and treats all of my cars like they're his own. I have been taking all of my vehicles to his shop for 4 years. My brother has also had good experiences at AutoTailor. In fact, I am so confident in the quality of their work and their professionalism, that I recommended AutoTailor to my boss and his wife.

They tracked down and corrected a problem that plagued my
truck for years, one that other shops misdiagnosed. Kept
me very well informed through the process and explained
the costs and potential problems upfront. Very friendly
and helpful.

I find the owner, Brent Wells, to be extremely competent and
his employees, Dustin and Dan to be very competent as well.
They always answer all my questions and take as much time
as I need to explain my car's problems. The shop is very
busy. Appointments are encouraged but they will work in
emergancies car repairs. What I like best about this shop
is they will tell me if a repair is vital or can wait.

My husband and I have been taking our two old, crappy cars
to the guys at Autotailor for the last 3 1/2 years. They
have always effectively treated our cars' aches and pains.
And as I female, I've never felt intimitated to go in by
myself.
They are also very accommodating...one day I accidentally
pushed my parking garage key through a crack into the abyss
of the dashboard. I stopped by Autotailor on my way home
from work to see what my options were for removal and an
employee took time in the dark, after closing to dig around
in the dash for it. He found it--and didn't charge me a
cent!

These guys are great! I took my 1991 mazda POS in on
Wednesday, had a full breakdown estimate by Friday, and had
the car (more or less restored, not just repaired) back on
Monday. I dealt with Brent and Dan and they were both
awesome. I highly recommend these guys. Oh, and they take
the car to be fully cleaned before giving it back to you. I
don't know if this is standard, but no mechanic ever did
that for me before.

They are very quick (1 day turn-arounds), honest, friendly,
and take the time to prioritize problems that need fixing.
If the repair job involves multiple things and can be very
expensive, they will definitely help you to figure out what
repairs are necessary and what can be delayed until later
when more money is available. Their labor costs are above
average, but I think it's worth it for the service they provide.
