Gary, Patti and Lanny run an honest, efficient and friendly local garage. They are a delight to deal with, whether it's a big, expensive problem or a little one.

I took my '89 Plymouth Sundance here for an oil change, etc., and also asked them to see if they could find out why the engine had started making a funny sound. When I went to pick it up, they told me I likely had a dry bushing (something to do with the transmission). They explained the problem in detail, and told me that it would cost between $1,200 and $1,500 to repair. When I asked about the impact on the car, they said that I could choose not to have it fixed, and the car might run fine for years, or that I might have more serious problems in the next year. I asked them if it would blow up, or cause more expensive repairs, and they said no. I appreciated the fact that they explained things in detail, and did not try to scare me into an unnecessary expensive repair.

I have used Kearney Garage (Gary Heber, Owner) for over a decade. While they are probably not the cheapest, they are honest, reliable, and friendly to deal with. For Japanese and America cars I send all my friends there. They are right on the #20 bus line downtown.

I have had a Ford Taurus, old Toyota Landcruiser, and
various Volvos serviced at Kearney over the years. They are
always reliable and are pleasant to work with. The best
part is that they explain the problem, consequences of
fixing it or not fixing it and quote a price before doing
the work that is accurate. I would not go anywhere else!

Charged $140 for the WRONG diagnosis. Quoted $2000 for the work, which wouldn't have fixed it anyway! Went elsewhere and got my car running again perfectly for $400. These guys are either scammers or extremely incompetent. In either case, AVOID THIS PLACE!
