Joe, Jeff & pals at Comprehensive have been friends to me and my Subaru for many years now. Whether the car is in for routine maintenance or, rarely, towed in, it gets fixed quickly and at a fair price and with clear explanation of what is going on. About half the time, I offer a suggestion of what might be the matter. Usually my suggestion is incorrect. Last week I thought the clutch was making the strange grinding sound when the ignition was turned. Actually it was the ignition due to a battery cable that needed to be fixed. They have the highest integrity and great knowledge of vehicles and people. This shop is in a pleasant neighborhood within easy distance of the beautiful University of Denver. When my Subaru is getting worked on, I spend the hour walking around that campus. Nancy

I found Comprehensive after Grease Monkey nearly destroyed my car's engine with some faulty "maintenance" work. Thereafter, Joe and the guys at Comprehensive kept my 1990 Subaru Loyale in great mechanical condition and running well for the 11 years I owned it. Over time, they had advised me when to replace certain components when necessary or that it would be a better idea to watch certain things, like slowly leaking engine seals, than to replace them at great expense. Unfortunately age, mileage and a decidedly unpampered life finally caught up to my car. They helped me through the difficult decision to retire my good old Subaru instead of pouring money into it to keep it running for a short additional time. Like experienced surgeons, they knew when to pull the plug. It turns out the seal leak never did get fixed and didn't lead to the car's demise. That's money saved. My next car will definitely benefit from the good care and service at Comprehensive.

They treated my 1991 Toyota 4-Runner as if it was their own! Great work from this shop. They pointed me to this website when I moved to Chicago. I am searching hard for a shop that gets this type of review!

Hi Guys, Don runs an honest business (as best idiots who know nothing about cars can tell!) For example, most repair places will try to blow smoke up your tailpipe, insisting that they MUST puchase the parts to install. My emergency flasher burned out, I purchase an OEm replacement from a Subaru dealership, foolishly thinking that I could replace it in my Impreza. (Yeah right!) Anyway, CCC accepted the part and replaced, after some difficulty on their part. Apparently, the term, "under the dash" is a modern euphimism for impossible to reach easily. Not only do they repair as promised, I;ve NEVEER had a repair go awry and they also provide "frequent oil change" servicing. Not too shabby. Glen M MacCallum PS Sudebaker in the drop down list? Who has a Studebaker? Why not list a Nash as well then? ;)

I went to this shop a few times for general repairs. I was SHOCKED at the high prices. Charge $95 an hour for labor, and sold me two brake pads that totaled over $100. Did fine work, but will not go back due to price.

I moved to Denver in August of 1990 and almost at once noticed that I had a burned out headlight. I had seen Comprehensive Car Care on my first grocery store outing, and knowing that I was unlikely to find a Subaru headlamp at my local gas station, went there for a replacement. A mechanic got the replacement and went out to the car while the man at the desk was writing up the invoice. Moments later the mechanic was back to say, "You don't need a new one the bulb was just loose and I tightened it up, you are all set no charge." They had a perfect opportunity to tighten the bulb, put the new one back on the shelf and I would have never known the difference. I have been a loyal customer ever since. They have cared for our Toyota and our two consecutive Subarus and we have referred dozens of customers to them. Sadly I now drive an Impala to ease my elderly joints so only our Subaru continues to go there but they are the best ever and I cannot recommend they enough.

These guys are very honest - we went to 3 other mechanics (in CA and CO) who insisted we needed new struts on our Subie, went to CCC and they assured us we did not. It's been 2 years since then, and they still think they're fine. They charge fairly standard labor prices.

A repair to an AC leak or two on an old vehicle proved to be several leaks. They then replaced the compressor and were very fair. I have had them do all the service on my two Toyotas for several years, as every visit reinforces my belief in them. Good going, guys.

I found Comprehensive by way of two recommendations from other Subaru owners. Everything I was told has turned out to be true. The service is fast, friendly, and accurate. I have a 99 Outback that has had many 99 Outback problems. Joe and his crew have consistently treated me well. I would recommend this shop to anyone that has a Honda, Toyota, and particularly to Subaru owners.

The guys at Comprehensive are great!! They take time to explain everything in terms that the average person can understand. They even kindly triage problems for you so you can make an informed decision on what could wait to be fixed at another time and what should not wait. Very trustworthy and thorough. I felt like they were really looking out for my best interests and took pride in taking care of my car.
