A friend recommended that I see Dave after I had a car accident (slid into the curb (hard!) on an icy curve). The Reader's Digest version is that Dave gave me honest advice just like the Car Guys would have, including straight car advice, philosophy, and education about car insurance, too. He fixed my car up GREAT, coordinated care with all the other shops, kept me informed(!), found a subtle brake line leak, and even cleaned the orange paint off the other side of my car. Details (in the spirit of Car Talk) below about this decent human being. I was very shaken and just did not know what to do. The car was hard to drive, but only looked badly scratched on the wheel. I actually drove it for a full day (only a few miles) before stopping in. (This establishes how naive I am and how easy it would have been for someone to take advantage of me!) Dave, who had never seen me before, dropped everything and looked it over and drove it around the block to see how it handled. He noted that the right tire, from the FRONT, was bent inward about 20 degrees, and said he could not tell how much else was bent until he got it on the lift. As we drove, the brake light came on for the first time ever (6 yo Honda Accord). He found that I was way down on brake fluid and just filled it up, saying I could pay him when I brought it in later. I will note here, that at the very end of the job, he discovered that my accident had caused a small leak in some brake line - so he may have saved me from a second accident! He also told me that my insurance might cover a rental car, something I had not thought of. Dave took care of everything, including getting the car to & from wherever the alignment got checked and bird-dogging the very slow (and slimy, in my opinion - hey, he's not a mechanic!) insurance adjuster. Dave also CALLED ME with progress reports on my car! The adjuster also saw previous scrapes and bright orange paint/small dent on the opposite side from a prior bump against a protective post and wrote this up as an even bigger claim. Dave explained to me that the adjuster had even made a video of my car, so they could claim, if I ever had an accident on THAT side, that it was pre-existing damage. Since I knew the orange paint was just superficial, and the bump had not cracked the paint, I had decided to clean up the paint (someday) myself and ignore the dent, and I accepted the scrapes on the nonmetal bumper as part of life in the city. I asked Dave if HE would repair it all on HIS car, and he said no. WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK, DAVE HAD CLEANED OFF ALL THE ORANGE PAINT! I could go on with more details, but I will leave that to other customers of this very small shop, whom I hope will chime in.

Dave is a very honest guy who will readily tell you when a job is beyond the abilities of his shop. He will drop everything for a minor repair at no charge to get me back on the road. Highly recommended.

Dave and his crew have worked on a number of our different cars over the past 8 years. Dave is always polite, helpful, and calls us as soon as he has an assessment. He does not hesitate to refer us to someone else if he feels it is more than he can handle. The only "problem" we have had with him is that he won't let us pay him for his time when he evaluates a problem but decides he needs to refer us to someone else to do the work.

A couple of friends/ coworkers at the Health Sciences Center recommended Dave's shop and between us, he's been servicing our Hondas, Subarus, Mazdas and another friends ancient Datsun for years. He always acts as if he has all the time in the world to talk to you about what may be happening with your vehicle and calls often during the day to give you updates. With the HSC move to Fitz, I tried other garages closer to the new work location and paid for unnecessary and inflated price repairs. I happily make the effort to get my car to Dave again and have had nothing but smooth driving and relatively painless maintenance/ repair costs!

I went by the shop with a "check engine" light problem. They ran the computer check and gave me the code that came up and said if the light came on again, I might have something needing fixing. Cost: $0.

Dave is a remarkable and straightforward individual. I do believe he treats women the same as men - honestly. A couple of years ago, while my car was in for an accident (not body work), he even called me to tell me that my insurance man was going over my car, looking for evidence of old damage, and I should get myself over there to see what was up. Dave looks out for his customers!

WOW! This men at this shop were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. The price was more reasonable than the estimate I got over the phone. I will spread the word far and wide because Dave, the shop owner, is a car owner's dream come true.

Never had a problem with them. I'm a car retard and they were recommended to me by someone who is car smart and used them. The owner Dave has always been great.
