My ex-wife's car was the car from hell from the moment I bought it for her in 1994. You see, the Honda dealer never told me that this Prelude was the last car to use a carburetor -- in fact, there's two of them. And sure enough, at about 90K miles, the car developed a chronic hesitation problem. When my ex decided she'd had enough, I was stuck with the car. First I tried the expensive fuel additive, no luck. I took it to Tire World on North Academy, and they said it was beyond their expertise. Car Care 2000 at Fillmore and El Paso took the job, but $1400 later I had a valve job, but no change in the hesitation. Hondac quickly diagnosed the problem, and replaced both carbs. The car ran fine, and I was able to sell it for a fair price. If I own another Honda or Acura and need service, I'll take it directly to Hondac.

I followed them to their present shop when they left the employment of Independent Honda. They always have time to discuss a problem over the phone, get my car in in a timely fashion, and have always solved the problem. (Of course, Honda's are great cars to begin with.) When I was experiencing a problem with it overheating on trips from C.S. to Santa Fe, NM, they discussed possible causes and started with most likely/least expensive. Maybe most important to me, they don't talk down to me because I'm a woman. They're keeping my 86 Accord, with 155,000 miles on it, running just fine.

I could say a lot of good things here, but most importantly Randy and company are mechanics you can trust.
