If you want a straight-shooting and HONEST mechanic that goes the extra mile and even finds cheap USED parts for things like windshield wiper arms for your 'older' car--I mean, come on...you need the thing to WORK, but it doesn't have to be NEW for a 20 year old car--these are the people to talk to. Like a family friend, they will care for you and your car in ways you didn't think an auto shop could. In the end, you actually DO feel like family. Check around if you must, but these are the best mechanics you will find for your Honda in Boulder.

The first time I took my car to Hoshi, it was for regular service. They told me that I needed a repair that was not essential, unless it broke and then it would do serious damage. Sounded bogus. But I checked around and decided to proceed. Over 2 years later, Honda announced a recall for this part and reimbursed me retroactively. Hoshi installed a new radiator for my wife. When it was discovered that our problem had a different problem, they put the old one back in and refunded all the money. The story on Hoshi...they worry about your car so you don't have to...They are committed to doing quality work at reasonable rates. Best ever!!

These people are awesome! I'll own a Honda as long as they are in business. They have the best customer service of any business in town.

Mechanics who care! I've been going to Hoshi for about 3 years. After several bad experiences with the Boulder Honda dealer's service center, I was determined to never again suffer their BS. At Hoshi I find better service, better prices, and no longer worry about whether I'm being ripped off. The folks at Hoshi seem commited to running an ethical business, and I'm always treated with care. More important is that I believe my car is being treated with care. I wish there was a Hoshi in every town.

I had too many bad experiences with Boulder Toyota dealer treating me like an idiot because I am a woman, so I went to Hoshi at the recommendation of this Board and a friend who has a Honda and used them. Laurie and her staff are great. They did my 60k mile tune up for less than they originally quoted me and much less than the dealer or other shops had quoted. The improvement in the car was very noticable. I just they would work on my Lexus as well.

We have been using Hoshi for ten years. Me, My wife, my sister, my niece. We had our first opportunity for a come back last week. Hoshi did an oil and filter change on my wifes 2005 Element. I drove it home and parked it in the driveway. Moved the car about an hour later, and there was an oil puddle underneath the motor area. No big deal. I called Hoshi the next day: "Bring it right in, we will find and fix the problem while you wait." Took the car in, it was on the rack in 5 minutes. While I am reading the newspaper, Laurie, the owner, says: "Give me your credit card, I am refunding the cost of the Oil change." And this is just one of the reasons that folks, keep coming back to this shop. Oh Yeah, the problem: A new Oil tech allowed oil to drain into a suspension part. That was the cause of the puddle. Yes, I strongly recommend this shop.

These guys give a holistic view on owning and driving a high-mileage vehicle. I was thinking of replacing an 11- year old Honda Accord with almost 200k miles on it but these guys told me that I probably wouldn't need their services again for another 100k miles and that the energy and resources used to produce a new car were probably far higher than those that would be saved by a newer, more fuel- efficient vehicle. I wouldn't take my Honda anywhere else in town. I'd even drive in from Denver.

I have taken various Hondas and a Subaru to Hoshi for years (probably going on 20 years). Excellent service. Now I have a Hyundai and have no idea where in Boulder/Longmont I will be able to find equivalent service.

My husband and I have gone to Hoshi for two decades with our Hondas. They helped me get a new used Civic a few years back, and I've been very happy with that car, and they helped find someone to buy our 1987 Honda. They have kept our cars in good condition for so many years that I am sad to say we are moving away from the area, and them. They suggested cartalk.com to find another good shop, so I want to thank them for their service over the years, which has been impeccable. You guys are the best I could ever have wished for!
