CHRIS IS THEIR SUMMER TECHNICIAN. BESIDES BEING AN INCREDIBLY HANDSOME VAIL SKI PATROLER,HE IS INDISPENSIBLE AROUND THE SHOP.

I have not had good luck with Mark. The check engine light
on my wife's 95 Audi was coming on. $600, 2 oxygen sensors
and a cleaned EGR valve later it still comes on. Her
ignition switch was sticking. $150 and a new ignition
switch later it still sticks. A clunk was coming from the
engine compartment of my 2000 Jetta when I went over
bumps. $400 and 2 new struts later it still clunks. Mark
seems very knowledgeable when you talk to him but I have
spent over $1,000 with him to no avail.

Mark has worked on several cars of ours: an 1987 Jetta, a 1990 Vanagon, a 1990 Toyota Corolla, and a 1998 Subaru Forester. He knows VW's, Audis, Toyotas and Subarus, their strengths, their weaknesses & quirks. All service was done on time and with reasonable cost. They are located near bike paths and public transit routes.

Hi-
The owner, Mark Frey, lives in the mountains. When
blizzards blow out the power, he gets to work unshaven.!

I have brought my '96 Outback to Mark for three years. He has been nothing but
completely honest and fair with me. Always willing to answer any of my
questions and looks at the car right away even when I just pop in.

I want to thank Mark Frey, Paul, and Frey's crew so much
for keeping my old VW Jetta running long, long past its
prime. Although my signficant other attempted to bribe me
on more than one occasion to drive the vehicle over a
cliff, I resisted. And, I continued to resist. This was a
commuting car, and, with Frey's help, it kept "tearing"
down the highway in great shape ... for over 14 years and
300,000 miles. During that time, incidentally, the car
never required any major engine work. I thank Mark for his
helpful hints in this regard. Finally, Mark and crew were
always there to fix whatever needed fixing, and they were
very helpful in monitoring the vehicle and keeping it in
good running shape. My thanks again. You've still got a
VERY satisfied customer! Al Johnson

Glad to have found an honest mechanic for my wife while she is living in Boulder for several months. Price was excellent, didn't do unnecessary work. Communicated with me back in Wisconsin as to what needed to be done. Thanks Mark!
