Unlike Aamco and other shops I've been to, Santa Rosa Hydramatic doesn't sell you repairs you don't need, and they don't pressure you or give you the runaround. Pat the owner was straightforward and honest, and is simply the best tranny man in our area.

Santa Rosa Transmission (SRT) helped me out of a jam with my
220K-mile strong Toyota truck tranny. I called a bunch of
mechanics, many recommended by word-of-mouth and some via
Mechan-X Files. Either they wouldn't even take a look at
the truck until after January 3rd (14 days away!) or if I
left it, they *might* have a chance to inspect it ten days
from now.
Not the case with SRT! They saw me the same-day; found the
problem with the shifter bushing that NO ONE else I spoke
with had a clue about; and had the whole thing done in less
than two hours. Awesome. And the garage was buzzing with
other cars they were working on but since they were waiting
for parts on other jobs, were able to fit me in.
Many thanks to owner/manager Sam Burrage and his great crew
at Santa Rosa Transmission!

The first time my 1993 Chevy Suburban's transmission
failed, it was rebuilt by the shop that quoted the lowest
price. The second time (just 15,000 miles and one expired
warranty later), I learned that the lowest price was not
necessarily the best value. I did some research and was
referred to Sam Burrage at Santa Rosa Transmission.
Sam explained what had gone wrong with the first
rebuild, what was needed again this time, and gave me a
detailed estimate. The repairs were done on schedule and
Sam even came in early so that I could pick up the truck
and get to work on time. SRT's warranty on the work was
THREE TIMES LONGER than the first shop's guarantee.
Since then (April 2006), SRT has done a check-up and
service on the Suburban as well as our 1988 Mercedes-Benz
560SL. I can't speak too highly of Sam and his employees.

I've had three experiences with Santa Rosa Transmission on
different cars I have owned. I highly recommend Sam and
his crew. They are competent, friendly and always get the
job done at a reasonable price. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I go to Santa Rosa Transmission for the people. They treat
me fairly and get the work done quickly.
