We previously used South Valley Auto (another mechanic listed on this website) for our 2001 Chrysler Town & Country and 2003 Subaru Forester, but were forced to find a new mechanic when South Valley went out of business about 2 years ago. We found Monterey Auto Tech 1 initially because of excellent YELP reviews, and decided to try them. We have been extremely happy with the results and have used that Monterey Auto Tech 1 almost exclusively since then. We have had simple maintenance such as oil changes, more extensive "factory service," air conditioning work, alternator and water pump replacements, and brake work. Based on comparisons we have done with other shops, their prices are reasonable and typically substantially lower than dealer quoted prices. The owner/operator is the one you will primarily deal with, so there is no middle man to muck up the story. We have been very satisfied with the explanation of what work is needed, and in several cases what work really isn't needed, so save your money. We have no hesitation recommending this shop for any of your automotive repair needs.
