I was sent to Kieth because a tire shop screwed up some work. The car had to be towed there. Keith fixed the axle, suggested a specialist of superior quality and wished me well. Since then he has fixed the water pump, replaced axles, done great tune-ups and charged me honest costs, even doing some work gratis which could well have been charged for. This shop has received rewards by the Chamber of Commerce of L.A. and the L.A.Times as well. I just bought a new car. I am taking it to him for oil changes, consultation, and generally good banter until the warranty wears out. One minute after... it is back to Kieth --likety-split. He advises you to take re-built parts when new ones are ridiculously over priced and not necessary. His rates are fair and honest. He is one great, honest, competent and just damn good person and mechanic so much so that I have maintained the relationship--you know having a great doctor and a great mechanic. He's definitely a great mechanic!

I wanted to have my 735 ei serviced at the dealers and they wanted over $1,200 to do the major service that was required. I would have had to leave it for 3-4 days! Keith Melville at Automobilia tackled the job right away. He and his staff went way beyond the norm to get the job done first, and secondly, they charged way less than the dealership.

Hi Guys, Thanks for your humor, fun and knowledge. Keep up the great work. Do they award nobel prizes for this? Keith Melville at Automobilia, Studio City, CA 91604 is the "Cream of the Cream". These guys know their stuff and I trust them 100%. For some of us gals it's really scary when you go into a service shop at a dealership. The guy in the white coat comes out with his clipboard and says "Your glove box and sun visors are in great shape, however....." Keith never makes you feel that way, He's funny, honest and doesn't overcharge. I'll never take my car anywhere else.

My car battery was dead--they determined the problem quickly (w/o charging me for the test), made sure it wasn't something else (alternator or starter), and then said it would be fixed in an hour (and it was). Also, Keith noticed that the pan under the engine needed cleaning and took care of that, for no charge. And he only charged for parts, not labor. The bill was just for the new battery plus tax. I found him on this site and will definitely go back to Automobilia!

I went to them based on a recommendation from this site to repair my vehicle after it had been broken into. My driver's side lock was mangled, as well as my ignition lock because the sloppy thieves used a flat-head screwdriver to get in. I'm pretty happy with the work they did, I brought my insurance estimate with me and Kieth did his darndest to make sure he either met the quote or beat it (he actually came in a little under). The repair took a little longer than I would have liked, but that was due to the fact that they had trouble locating a new ignition switch/lock. Then there was a problem because the only switch they could find was the new one which has slightly different wiring than what was originally in my jeep. Consequently, the alarm chime (to warn of leaving the keys in the ignition or the head-lights on when opening the door) would ring any time I opened the door, no matter what. The only solution (according to them... and I went with it) was to disconnect the chime completely. Not a big deal, though I have locked my keys in the car a couple of times. However, I'm happy with the work they did, all in all. I have recommended them to other people and will return in the future.

I took my 1994 Volvo to Keith after I had just been told by Zen Volvo, a nearby shop, that I needed a new brake booster for $705 and a valve adjustment for $130. Keith told me on the phone that my car make and model didn't use valves, but shims -- so Zen Volvo's assessment was obviously a load of bunk. When Keith checked the brake booster, the supposed leak was nowhere to be found. He drove the car around a few blocks and pronounced it in excellent shape. He put a quart of oil in the car and sent me on my way; all in all, he spent half an hour with me, talked to me like a knowledgable consumer, not a girl, saved me $835, and didn't charge me a cent. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Another good experience with these guys. My check engine light came on. They took in my car on a fairly busy Saturday and finished it same day. Honest and fairly priced. Keith is always eager to help and explained in great detail what was wrong with my Jeep. He always tries very hard to meet or beat his original estimate. Since, I'm going to be moving out of California in a month, I am dismayed that I will lose this great mechanic. They're hard to find!!!

I've taken my 18 year old Volvo to Keith multiple times now. Each time I take it in, I've procrastinated beyond the point of liking it fixed into the realm of *needing* it fixed... And almost always on Saturdays. Keith and the gang have done MAJOR work on this car a few times, and always get it done in a ridiculously short amount of time. You really can't beat a car needing $900 in repairs (of Keith's work, which is about $2700 worth of the dealership stealing money from you), taking it in on a Saturday unannounced, and being told "It's going to take a while...Come back Monday at noon." Apparently Keith's version of a 'while' is shorter than the dealer's. The very first time I took it to Keith, I was expecting to spend $1000 getting major transmission work done- He did everything I needed, and in addition replaced the fluids & front brake pads, all in one afternoon, and it came to the princely sum of $200 for the lot. Insanely reasonable prices, especially here in So Cal. I've also taken my 2002 Nissan there and have had equally excellent service. It's nice to have a mechanic who does great work on both classic and new cars. 100% recommended for any of your cars!
