Today, June 16,2007, I brought my 2002 Bmw in for front and rear brakes.. After reading some good reviews , I called and they were kind enough to give me a fast appt. They used bmw factory parts and saved me alot of $. The shop is clean. They gave me an estimate over the phone and they didn't find other things to fix and increase the bill , as is often the case. I enjoy getting quality work with quality parts at real fair prices.. I will be back again because the BMw dealer prices are just outrageous, and for the same exact stuff, I say why not..

These guys are awesome. I've been bringing my car to them for 3 years now, for everything from a routine oil change to a timing belt replacement and 30k servicing - they're friendly and always explain to me what work they are doing on my car. I'll be bringing my car back here as long as I'm in San Diego!

Aaron and the crew at PB Foreign and Domestic are fantastic. They take the time to fully explain what needs to be done on your vehicle. The first time I tried an auto shop in San Diego that wasn't PB Foreign and Domestic, I nearly got ripped off by about $200. Aaron redid the diagnostic and fixed everything in a timely fashion.

I have been going to P.B. Foreign Auto for over 20 years. George and his son Aaron are class guys. They are scrupulously honest. Unless one gets fixed priced bids for repair work it is impossible to tell how inexpensive or expensive the shop is. I believe their prices are very reasonable. It is their honesty and integrity that appeal to me. The do the work in a timely manner, call to tell you what's going on and are extremely polite to all.

I've lived in this neighborhood for about 20 years now and I've never heard a single complaint about this shop. George and Aaron are truely great local people who care about their community and the people who live here. I highly recommend this shop! And if your out of town guest has a problem, send them straight to George. He's fair, honest, and relatively inexpensive compared to other Honda specialists in the area. Great job guys!

The nicest thing about this shop, apart from the good work they do, is that they are so completely fair and honest. One never gets the feeling that they are trying to sell you some part or service that you don't need.

My son lives and works in SD, CA. He drives a 1999 Toyota Camry with 86,000 miles. While driving home from work, he called me and said the car had made an ugly rattling noise and stopped running. He hoped the alternator had died. I hoped that too but suggested that it could be the timing belt. My son removed the alternator and took it to a nearby auto parts store. The alternator tested OK. He had the car towed to a local dealer. The dealer told him it was definitly not the timing belt, probably a separated piston rod, and needed $350.00 to verify the problem. If the rod was thrown, it would cost at least $3000.00, possibly $6000.00 to fix. I called the dealer and got the same story. I told the service manager to stop work. I went to and found PB Foreign Auto in the "find a mechanic" section. My son called PB Foreign Auto; called me back and said, "already I like these guys!" They offered to diagnose the problem for a reasonable fee. The manager at PBFA said that if it really did turn out to be a thrown rod, he advised putting in a rebuilt engine for around $4000.00. We decided to tow the car to PBFA. The problem turned out to be the water pump which had siezed and thrown the timing belt. They replaced the water pump, and timing belt, and with our authorization, did a tune-up - spark plugs and wires, filters - total price, less than $1000.00. I think my son has found a reliable mechanic!

PB Foreign took care of my 85 Volvo for many years. It has gone to its reward, but when my new care needs attention, I will return.

George is so nice and straight forward. Every time I go in there he knows me and explains what needs to get done and how much it will cost. He usually gives me a discount and does a thorough job. When my heater core went out last fall, I went to Midas and they were going to charge me all this money. I went to PB Foreign and George gave me a less expensive alternative. I ended up just getting the heater core replaced, but it was nice to know he is willing to offer a less expensive option
