The first time I went to Norton, I needed to get a starter replaced. I had called around to a few places asking how much it would cost, and he was the only person to give me a direct quote for the price of a rebuilt starter w/installation over the phone. When I took the car to him, he noticed that the mechanic that had previously changed the head gasket (I bought the car used) had installed it wrong (it was either upside down or backwards or both). He fixed this free of charge. He's always given me the most reasonable prices, he doesn't mind of you watch him make the repairs, and all work was finished on the same day. Overall, I went to him three or four times while I lived in Pasadena, and have recommended him to a number of friends. On a separate occasion, my girlfriend took her car to him on my recommendation. During turns, her car was making clicking noises that seem to be characteristic of worn front half-axles that need to be replaced (this seems to be a problem with older Hondas). A few weeks after the axles were replaced, the noises resumed. She went back to Norton, and he told her that a few other customers that had recently had the same repair done encountered a similar problem. Apparently, most of the axles in that shipment were defective. Once he got a new shipment of axles, he replaced them with no additional cost or hassle.

Norton is a very honest and competent mechanic. He will
throw in service freebies whenever he can. He rebuilt my
clutch and did a great job and at a reasonable price. I
can't recommend him highly enough, especially for service
Hondas.

We went to Genesis on the recommendation of a friend after
paying inflated prices at the dealer for too long. Over the
years we have found Norton's work to be competent,
efficient, and reasonably priced. He has always been honest
and even in the busiest situations treats each customer in a
friendly, patient manner.
Long standing, happy customer - 2009

Norton rocks! He's Honda factory trained. He knows Hondas inside and out. He only uses Honda parts. I've been using him for 15 years on my Hondas. He even works on my Toyota Avalon. He has a small shop, it's not pretty -- but if a big screen tv
and a cappuccino machine are why you choose a mechanic, then you deserve to pay hundreds more for a major service.

Norton is great to work with. He and his partner used to
work for the Honda dealer across the street. He'll check on
things without charging you -- give you an opinion before
you have to decide whether to spend money. He is very
honest. I've been going to him for 8 years and he's great.

The other reviews sum it up pretty accurately. I second them.
