Tend to be higher on the price scale. They also have some "fluff" that others may find useful (e.g. internet access). Not a great value in my opinion, but work is solid.

Great Staff, proffessional and courteous. Takes the pain away of having to bring your car to the mechanics. I have always "enjoyed" dropping my car off at Auto Works, I have never felt ripped off. Pricing may not be their best value but the service is worth it. Last thing I must say is that I was a bit bummed to find out that Sammy no longer works there. He was a great service consultant who ran the operation in the office daily. I found out that he now works at the Honda dealership down the street. (what happened guys?).

He basically lets me come in and will do a quick repair or diagnos a problem easily and then we can schedule an appointment quickly to get the work done. He has just expanded and grown and is frustrated that he can't schedule appointments for me as quickly as before, but he will still go out of his way to meet my needs He seems to remember more about my car than I do and keeps great records of work done. He honors his warrenties, too.

Glen and Sam spent about one and a half hours talking about my cars and related topics, and we're not related! I'm flabbergasted, but sad because they don't service BMWs which I now own. I honestly cannot heap enough praise on this shop.

Not everybody wakes up in the morning looking forward to see their auto mechanics. I am too proud to feel this way on my way to Oakland Auto Works. From the moment you make your appointment to the final steps of picking up your car, these guys seem to amaze me every time. Excellent, Excellent and excellent service. They might not be the cheapest place but sure enough the job is done correctly and honestly. The knowledge and the quality of service is un-paralleled! The moment Sammy (service guy) answers the phone I automatically smile. Glen (the owner) is one of the most gifted and talented mechanic i've ever known. Even the mechanics greet you with a smile from a far. Just hope they worked on BMW's, unfortunately they only work on Japanese cars. We'll, bottom line is these guys are great, trust worthy and competent. Thanks to Sammy and Glen, I will never be afraid to bring my car to a repair shop!!

These guys are awesome! I just looked them up again to refer to a friend looking for a place near our office. They give free rides to and from the shop if you work/live close by, or give rides to BART. I set up a same-day appointment when my starter failed to work in the morning, and my car was fixed by that afternoon!

i've had work done on my honda odyssey and toyota camry. glen is great and very knowledgable. work is always done on time and the customer service is great. shop rate is currently $120/hour which is a bit high for me, but you pay a premium for the great service, quality parts, and knowledge that you'll only have to have the job done once. great place.
