The folks at Brand Automotive are always very helpful and ready to find and fix any problem. While they are very busy, which can make it hard to get routine maintanence done within a week, they always take the time to do it right. I have a restored '64 Barracuda, and they have been great with finding replacement engine parts and other information. I always recommend the folks out there to anyone who ever asks for a reputable repair shop.

They are the best in the area for diagnosing computer problems and fixing them.Last year they got the local newspapers peoples choice award"The Best of the Best" and I think they do a great job.

I have been a customer for over 20 years. I have taken 4 different vehicles, American, and Japanese to them. I have been treated with courtesy and we have developed a trusting relationship over the years. I have recommended Brand Automotive to many friends in Mariposa. Compared to Merced and Fresno dealerships, Brand Automoive is very reasonable.

The shop has been in the Brandauer family for years. Good guys, they know their stuff, very friendly, very courteous, Prices are amazing. If you are going to Yosemite and want a good shop... this is the one. - Gabe

While I do most routine work myself (brakes, small mechanics like clutch cylinders etc.) I take my car to Brand for the big stuff. They redid my head gaskets a couple years back and did it for a great price and quite quickly given the scope of the work. They may not always be able to fit you in the day you call, but when they schedule an appointment for you, they are always good for their word and get to it the day you bring it in. They also do a great job of letting you know what else they find when doing work, but always ask if you want it to be done at that time and don't press you if you want to hold off. We take both of our cars to this shop and have always gotten top rate service. Only one time did we ever have anything go wrong after having work done at the shop by a new careless mechanic and Brand went above and beyond to rectify the situation (both with us and making sure it wouldn't happen to anyone else in the future). Being one of the only shops in the county, Brand could have a monopoly if they wanted, but instead they offer top rate competitive service such that you would think they were competing against a dozen other shops. I highly recommend them.

I am happy that the other present reviewers have had a good experience with this business. We gave this garage our business based on these reviews. Although, I now feel that it is our responsibility to balance out this forum. We have received very bad service and terrible backing of the garage's workmanship. Our car was towed in for an overheating issue. The owner recommended a new radiator which we accepted. The car then overheated on the way home from the garage with the new pricey radiator. Then a thermostat was recommend which we accepted. The car has overheated again and this time it is the head gasket with damage going into the cooling system which had already wrongly been repaired. We have found it very difficult to receive call backs from the shop owner. And he appears to have no desire to stand behind his workmanship and at least see us part of the way on these new repair costs.

Please allow for a recent footnote on the review concerning the car which had a new radiator repair and broke down on the drive home from the garage. We have finally reached the owner of the garage and he politely stated that he did not realize the car came back right away after the radiator replacement. We assumed that this was an important issue which he would have been informed. He has graciously offered to help with the costs involved. He may be good person who perhaps does not have a handle on his business. Customers do deserve to be called back in a timely manner.
