I have brought my Jetta in to Jomag 3 times in the last year and a half for all kinds of random problems. Mauricio has always been open and honest about the work that needed to be done. I would feel completely comfortable going to him for anything as well as referring him to others. The 1st time I brought the car in by battery was completely dead, they tested and charged the battery for free and sent me on my way! They made a loyal customer right there!

I have had terrific experiences with Mauricio in this shop. He and the guys are very friendly, timely, and down- to-earth. Mauricio got me an incredible deal on a new windshield for my '98 Golf, about half what a dealer was asking. He explains clearly what needs to be done, and his prices are VERY reasonable. An example of the kind of shop he runs: after my last visit, I was driving around LA, and my "check engine" light came on. I thought it was funny, because they had just worked on the car. I took it right over to the shop; he and one of his mechanics checked the computer (it gives them a code so they know what to look at) and replaced a hose. It took them about 15 minutes. When I asked how much I owed them, he told me to forget it. I've never had MAJOR repair work done, but if I ever have to, this is where I am taking it.

Mauricio is definitely very pleasant to deal with. They are all hardworking and honest. Very respectable place. I recommend it. Dealer is overpriced and doesn't always do the right thing for your car.

I first heard of Jomag by word of mouth almost 10 yrs ago. When i met Mauricio he was very friendly & professional. He & his team have always done excellent work at a reasonable price for me. He takes the time to explain things as well which i really appreciate. I have referred friends to him & they have quickly become 'regulars' as well. No matter where in the L.A. area I may ever live, I will always come to Jomag for work on my car. It's not easy to find a mechanic that you can trust & when you do, you don't change. If you take your car here, you will see what i mean. Highly recommend..

Mauricio and his gang are very reasonable and great mechanics. I've taken my 1996 Volkswagen Jetta to them several times for major and minor work. My first experience with Jomag was for a new a/c unit which is a big job and an expensive one at that. Mauricio found the parts at a great price and the labor costs were relatively cheap! He also saved me money when it was time to go and get that smog check and my car wouldn't pass. Every time I've taken my car to Jomag, I've been completely satisfied with the work and the great service. Good mechanics are hard to come by so if you have a Volkswagen, Jomag is your one stop shop!

Our daughter has a VW Jetta TDI in LA and we have been diagnosing it on line. She replaced a MAF sensor and that didnot fix it. Seeing the CarTalk recommended Mechanics on line, a recommendation was made to take the car to these guys. They told her what was wrong (clogged manifold) made the repair in a timely fashion and now the responce from LA is WHEE it is just like new. The repair costs were in line with what is reasonable and the work was done in a competent manner on time. This shop gets the recommendation from both West Virginia and LA. Thanks Cartalk/ Click, Clack, Dewey, cheatem and how!!!

For some reason, '98 Jettas (among others) have this undocumented feature where the control arm bushings go out once a year or so. My first experience with Jomag was to have these changed out. They did the work in a reasonable time, and explained why the problem is chronic, and how they could use an Audi part (if they could get them) for a more lasting solution. So I put the car through its paces on the way home and, lo and behold, I still had steering problems. I took the car back the next day, and they had it done the same day -- turns out there's another pair of bushings that was also shot -- which they did for no additional labor charge, and they gave me 50% off the parts!
