Been buying tires at Ken's for years, but most worthy of note is Billy who runs the car repair side of Ken's operation. What a gem this guy is. Utterly competent, fast, resourceful, inexpensive, and honest to a fault. Ken only added the mechanic service a couple of years ago. That and the name "Ken's Tire" might be why Billy hasn't been discovered yet. I may get in trouble for letting the cat out of the bag. Big repairs and small, he's keeping my old heaps running. I've given him tons of opportunities to rip me off, but he does nothing but save me $$$. Pinch me.

I've taken my car to them a couple of times (first for tires and then for actual repairs) and both times they have been helpful, honest, and just a pleasure to work with. They seem to get a majority of their customers from word-of- mouth recommendations

They are sometimes short with you due to amount of work, but their work is great and price has been typically very good. I would recommmend for general repairs, smog and diagnostics. If they can't fix it - they will tell you.

Ken's is an awesome place. They did a great job with a pre- purchase inspection and even let me see the car while it was on the lift.

Ken's has been doing maintenance and repairs on several cars and our diesel truck for six years. He worked on my wife's car and truck for a long time before we were married. I do most of the easy stuff - oil changes and such - but he's done the more difficult work - timing belts, squirrel damage on wiring and plastic under the hood (no kidding), and troubleshooting then repairing things. Last time in, I had him locate a squeak - it turned out to be a tensioner on the serpentine belt and, while he was at it, I asked him to replace two tires. The repair was very fairly priced, and the two tires were the same quality as had been on the car, but he charged me significantly less than I'd paid at another local tire. Ken always explains what needs to be done and has actually talked me out of doing some repairs that he said were not needed or suggested a less expensive alternative. I'd recommend Ken's Tire to anyone for new tires or auto repair.

While driving to the Santa Rosa from north Orange County, I felt my front wheels pulling to the right especially when I engaged the brakes. I knew that my front wheels needed to be re-aligned. I called ahead based on the reviews I read were positive. I arrived and they got my Ford F150 Crew Cab in the repair bay quickly BUT within a matter of 5 minutes the mechanic came to inform me that it was the ball joints that needed repair – hundreds of dollars. I told him “no” that is not what I came in for and that I would have my independent auto repair shop in La Habra look at it when I arrived back home. The mechanic was observable miffed about it. When I arrived back home, I took my truck to my long-term mechanic and found that the Ken’s tire mechanic put the lug nuts back on extremely tight that that they had to break the lug nuts off. Also, the ball joints did not need repair. This mechanic has serious behavioral issues. The Ken’s Tire Service mechanic placed the occupants in my truck and myself in danger while driving to my destination and then the 500-mile trip back home. If I had a flat tire on the open highway or city freeways, there is no possible way for an AAA emergency repair service would have been able to remove the lug nuts since the Ken’s mechanic over-tighten the lug nuts to the extreme due to his frustration and misbehavior since I did not want the work he recommend done. My mechanic broke several impact instruments to get the lug nuts off and then had to call a tool specialist out to get the front lug nuts removed. This cost me time and money. Ken’s tire mechanic employed very bad judgment and endangered lives.

Go to Ken's for tires, their service is great for this, but DO NOT go there for any sort of mechanics work. The resident mechanic doesn't know what he is doing and he is basically a parts replacer until he stumbles across what was wrong. They charged me $500 to fix a miss/stumble in my engine, didn't fix it, left me with a fuel leak they refused to fix after keeping my vehicle for an additional 4 days. Took me 10 minutes to find the fuel leak (a loose fitting he left there) and then I had to replace the distributor myself to fix the miss/stumble. Yes, I could have done it all myself in the first place, but I have gone to Ken's for years for tires and thought I'd give them a try at mechanics work. Bad decision!
