I have grown tired of my local dealership stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. The service manager at my Volvo dealership was always superb, but sadly the technicians were not cut from the same cloth. The last straw came when they had to replace the entire engine due to a counter-balance shaft failure and they forgot to replace some rather important bolts holding on the subframe...... XC90's eat tires and recently our car was ready for another meal. I have never liked the amount of body roll in this vehicle, so I decided to go the whole hog - new beefier sway bars, end links from a well known west-coast manufacturer, plus new rotors and after-market ceramic pads (no dust !). A friend had recommended "The Dr" as a good Indy shop,so, one phone call later I had an idea of costs, plus an appointment. It's difficult to state how happy I am with this Indy's work. Their shop philosophy is rare - customers first, employees second and staying in business third. The shop is spotless, but filled with Mercs, BMWs, Lexus and Volvo each of which had a happy relaxed mechanic working away. The social interaction between the service managers and the mechanics was rare - the mechanics don't stiffen up and start looking busy when the service manager I was with took me through the shop. They display mutual respect that suggests a happy work place. Most importantly, the attention to detail is outstanding. Unlike my dealership where I had to return on three separate consecutive visits to address problems, these guys got it all right the first time. The shop is superb - waiting areas; comp coffee, tea, water; "seasoned" loaners at $12 a day (our Volvo loaner was great), and they actually have an Enterprise rental office in their business if you need a less-seasoned vehicle. Their rates are much less than the dealership. They work directly with your extended warranty insurance company. Bottom line, a great place to have your car serviced by really nice, happy and competent folks. I'll be going back.

We started taking our 85 240 wagon to DR. Volvo shortly after moving to CA. We were accustomed to garrages that raked us over the coals and overcharged for shoddy work that never fixed the problems. We were pleasantly surprised when my wife found DR Volvo and took our car in for repairs. She was treated extremely well and they explained everything to her. Every time your car goes in they perform an in-depth inspection and recommend required repairs in order of importance. They always let you know how to save money by combining certain repairs to cut labor costs. Most important- your car comes back fixed. We are so thrilled with DR Volvo we continue to take our car there even since we have moved an hour and a half away from the garage.

Jerry Fair and his crew have worked on our Volvos and Toyotas for 15 years. They are simply the best around. Factory trained and updated mechanics, original parts and honest advise. Jerry mentors his mechanics so they line up to work for him. -Nat & Iris Adam

I enjoy bringing my BMW in for service. The waiting room is beautiful. Local artists display their art. I even get to see my car being worked on.

Went to them for a couple years, satisfied though I felt that they overcharged. The superclean shop has a premium attached. But they installed a new radiator and after-market hoses, which were not designed as the OEM ones. It blew off, draining the collant, causing my engine to overheat, requiring a rebuild. I had to take them to small claims court (I won), where the president blatantly lied to the judge about what it costs to rebuild an engine on the S60R. (He said should have cost just $870.) Thankfully the judge knew about cars and found them responsible. I should not have had to file a lawsuit in the first place. Liars and over-chargers.
