I trust the folks at Charlie's. They have told me when they think something is necessary and when it isn't. They take the time to explain repairs to a non-car person, and I never feel talked down to. They always have a pleasant person to shuttle me back to my home and have accommodated a carseat in the shuttle car. They return the car washed every time it is serviced. Plus, there is a great place to eat breakfast (Honey's) a block and a half away while you wait :-)

My 20 year old daughter was 600 miles from home and a plastic piece from either under the car or the inner fender well broke off and was dragging in front of the front passenger side tire. We found him through this site (from which we have found excellent mechanics). It is very scary to have your daughters car vulnerable to breakdown so far from home and completely unable to help. She went to Charlies who said it should be fixed but it could wait until she got home and removed the dragging part. He did not charge her and sent her on her way. I am very impressed and have recommended him to friends who live in that area

I was new to the area and looking for an honest, reasonably priced mechanic. I had already been to one who used cheap radiator hoses when repairing the radiator and then had to be re-done at a costly Honda Certified Shop. Found someone cheaper who didn't speak great English, had great prices but told me I needed to replace brakes because they didn't "look good." I was suspicious when he couldn't be more specific and started calling around and found Charlie's Foreign Car somehow. The woman who answered the phone said to bring the car in for them to look at. They inspected the brakes and said they were fine, there was still about 20% left on them. Then she took me back in the shop and showed them to me, showed me how they measure them told me what I would need to repair when the time came and about how much it would cost. They didn't charge me anything and saved me a whole bunch of money. I was impressed that a woman knew about cars and took the time to show and educate me. This gained my trust since I often wonder if mechanics (men) and dealers prey on unknowledgeable women. I have continued to have my 93 Honda Accord maintained there for over 6 years. This is a small, local shop, a 2nd generation family owned business and all employees I've ever dealt with have been down to earth, honest, explained everything to me and been trustworthy. Highly recommend them.
