Owned and operated by Rhonda, a single parent who somehow was able to get herself together and purchase the shop. Rhonda understands cars and runs the front office. She can find out about and explain anything. More than once she has saved me from unnessesary and expensive (hundreds of dollars) fixes recommended by the dealer that didn't need to be done. She is very organized, understands that people often have tight budgets, and is very accommodating. Being female, I find it refreshing to be treated at her shop as an equal rather than as a dimwitted child. Evert Automotive is now taking care of my third used Saturn. The one drawback is that you're on your own as far as getting to and from the shop, but Elk Grove is still small enough to walk.

Rhonda is a jewel - at first I doubted her expertise because of her gender but quickly learned she was highly competent. She will never cheat you and refuses to do "fixes" that the owner doesn't really need. I highly recommend her business to anyone in the Elk Grove area looking for honest and thorough work.

I'm SO glad I found this shop! Rhonda always explains exactly what we need, even though I am utterly clueless about cars. Several times she has taken me back through the shop to show me exactly what work is being done on my car. The shop is extremely clean and the mechanics are polite. Today I took it in to replace the water pump-- Evert fixed it for $150 less than the dealer estimate!

They are a great shop - the best one that I have ever been to.

I went to Evert on the recommendation of several comments online. As far as I'm concerned, she's my new mechanic. She takes the time to listen to your description of your car's problems and even writes it down. Even though I'm a female who doesn't know much about cars, I do know when my car has something wrong and I hate it when a mechanic puts my description of a problem into two words and then expects his crew to know what's wrong. She has never made me feel incompetent and she always takes the time to explain things fully. She charges reasonable rates and tells me if something doesn't need to be done. I trust her and her mechanic totally.

Evert Automotive, and Rhonda, the owner, are wonderful! We took in our Nissan for a problem that the dealer had not been able to fix (and of course, they wanted to charge us every time we got within 100 ft. of them, practically). Rhonda and her shop fixed it within hours for an unbelievably beyond reasonable price! Everything others have said about Rhonda on this site is true. She takes the time to explain what needs to be done, and most importantly, what is necessary and what is optional, always trying to save you from spending unnecessary money. As a female, I always felt talked down to by the dealer's representatives -- with Rhonda, I feel respected. This is our new shop, for sure. We will be taking both our vehicles there in the future, whenever they need antyhing.
