Thanks to everyone else here for recommending Phil! Because
of the high praise I saw for him here, I went to him for
inspections on 2 Honda Civics I was thinking about buying.
He was very thorough and explained everything to me
patiently. On the first inspection, he could see almost
immediately that there were fairly serious problems with the
car. He explained them to me, then told me I could take it
away then and there, and he wouldn't charge me for the
inspection. I will be sure to go to him for any needed
repairs on the Civic I ended up buying.

I have been going to Phil's since I began driving. In fact, my Dad found Phil across the street from his office BEFORE I was driving. I have owned many makes of Hondas and a couple of Acuras. My teenager has crashed a few times and he can even make those cars run! I am in there so often that when I'm not there in a few months, I call and ask if they miss me. (kidding) Phil and Josh are the best. They are competant, reliable, and trustworthy. I send all my friends who buy Hondas/Acuras to Phil's. P.S. Phil is not as old as this review makes him sound!

I first went to Phil's over 15 years ago when no one could
find what that noise was in my 89 Accord. They fixed it the
first time and I've been going back ever since. I trust Phil
and his son implicitly and can't say enough about them and
their shop. My 89 Honda had 216,000 miles before it was
totaled on the freeway. My current 98 Accord has over
225,000 and I attribute a lot of it to the service I get at
Phil's. Go there!

I used Phil's Imports to repair my Hondas from the time I
moved to Los Angeles in 1989 until recently (when I was
offered a deal too good to pass up on a Lexus). The first
Honda was a 1980 model that I drove until 1993, when Phil
told me that the block was about to crack. The second
Honda was a 1992 model that I drove until this year. Phil
and his son, who works with him, are completely honest and
above-board, and also really nice guys. It's hard to find
a mechanic you can trust, and Phil's customers stick with
him - I spoke to one woman customer who had driven there
from the South Bay area, which is almost an hour away.
By the way, I am not related to, married to, or dating
anyone connected with Phil's Imports!
