Model Garage folks are extremely honest and will always prioritize my cars repairs when money is short (on my end!) When something needs to be repaired they do a timely job and if ever a problem is persistent they will take the time to find the answer even if it is not an easy fix. They have a female mechanic named Gail that I trust totally in her car approach. I highly recommend this garage without hesitation...I wish they would come with me to Portland Oregon!

Love these guys and gals! Especially as a woman, I always felt comfortable and that my trust was well placed. Thanks, Model Garage!

They have been in business since Afros were in vogue! I trust them with my car(Prius) and my son's car(Volvo). Now my elderly mother takes her car (Toyota) to them also. Last month my Prius did something weird and Gail(female mechanic) thought it might be the computer acting badly(although it checked out fine) and advised me to take it to the dealer right away since it was only 2k away from the end of the warranty. By gosh she was right! She saved me tons of stress and money too.

Our Volvo Cross Country went into 'limp home mode' far from home on the Bay Bridge (between San Francisco and the East Bay). I limped off the bridge to the nearest exit and phoned my wife. She found Model Garage on this website, and I had the tow truck take me there. Don waited for us to arrive (after closing), and even took the time to print out a list of hotels nearby for me. The next day, he quickly diagnosed the most pressing issue as a bad battery, but informed me that there were other issues with the car that needed to be addressed. He told me that the car should get me home (to Humboldt County)...he was right. I got home fine, but now I'm struggling to find a mechanic with the Volvo technology to read the codes that Don turned up. The only way I'd be happier with Model Garage would be if they'd move to Humboldt.

The folks at The Model Garage really know what they're doing. Not only are they a family owned business and have been around since 1978, they're incredibly talented and resourceful mechanics and some of the nicest people! They've always repaired my car quickly and efficiently while still managing to save me $ and I won't take a road trip without one of their excellent travel checks. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Our family first started bringing our Volvo's to Don and Peter at The Model Garage in the early 80's. We had a B120, a P1800 and a P1800 es. Now we have a 2002 V70 XC. We would never bring our cars to anyone else. They now work on Toyota's as well. Thanks for all of the years of good, honest work. Arta and family

The computer "forgot" the idle settings after the battery was disconnected for an unrelated issue. It would stall every time I came to a stop. Model Garage sent someone to my house to diagnose. Limped back to the garage and they fixed it @ no charge! My wife is a home care nurse and puts crazy miles on her car. Model Garage =has been doing her maintenance for over 20 years!

This is a great shop; they really know their stuff and they are very honest, not to mention quite friendly and willing to explain everything (about cars, that is...). I've been going to them for over 20 years and they've taken great care of my cars (two Volvos and a Toyota). I actually look forward to seeing them each time..
