Based upon the recommendations at this website, I took my Honda to Berkeley Minicar. Incredible experience!!! I got an appointment the next day, and they were *extremely* reasonable in their pricing. They did not charge me to determine which belt was 'screeching' on my car. They diagnosed the problem and adjusted it - FOR FREE!!!! And I am a female, so I appreciate their honesty with both males and females. For the necessary repairs, they did great work and were exteremely patient regarding my numerous questions. Thanks to all of you who recommended them!!!! Otherwise I would not have found them.

Thanks to this website (!) I tried Berkeley Minicar for the first time and was very satisfied with their work. I will bring my Honda there next time. (They only work on Hondas)

The first time I stumbled upon Berkeley Minicar: -Took my car to a competitor. -They wanted to charge me $1000 for the work needed. -I freaked out. -Picked up my car. -Then took my car to Berkeley Minicar on a recommendation of a friend. -They charged me about $150 for the SAME WORK. -I've been going to Berkeley Minicar ever since. They are always friendly, competent, reassuring, fair priced, don't do anything extra without checking with me first and explain in layman's terms the work they have done. Honest to goodness - one of the main reasons I bought another Honda is that I had such great Honda mechanics! No kidding!

They thought they had fixed my car's problem the first time, but there was a second part of the problem they had missed. They were very apologetic when I returned and quickly fixed the second part at great expense to themselves. I would definitely use this mechanic again because they took responsibility for their work. The car runs fine now.

They've been taking care of my car (a 1987 Honda Accord DX hatchback) since I gave up on the local Honda dealer, a decade or so ago. They have been just great. Honest, not exorbitantly priced, good at diagnosis, on budget and on time, and they almost always get it right the first time. On the rare occasion that they make a mistake (one time their price for an oxygen sensor was WAY more than the price on Amazon), they'll find a way to make it right. Nancy, the front desk person, rolls her eyes whenever I roll in, but I like her, and Jim N. the service manager is terrific, as is mechanic Jerry who (poor guy) usually gets stuck working on my beast. They do Hondas (and now Toyotas) only. Highly recommended. 5 stars. - Phil L., Berkeley, CA.
