My 98 Honda needed a new transmission. John could have done it for me, but he let me know that in 1998 Honda was trying a new transmission that did not work well. He helped me with the dealership to get it replaced for free. I had been trying for a year to get them to, but John gave me the right way to approach them to get it done and free. Saved me $4,500!

I have been going here since it opened, and we now own two Acuras. John used to work for a dealership long ago, so he has all the training and somehow stays current with Acura issues. He is as honest as they come, works hard to keep repair prices down (not always easy with the cost of Acura parts) and gets it done right the first time. He will NOT do work your car does not need to make a buck. He is the only guy in the shop so you might have to wait (he is popular) but if you have a Honda or Acura this is the best place to go in Bakersfield.

My son found John's shop several years ago--he had an Acura. John has done routine maintenance on my '01 Honda Odyssey since the van was new, always an excellent job. I had a similar experience with it's transmission. John told me about Honda extending the warranty so I had it replaced at the dealer. I agree with all of the other respondents. I highly recommend John's Honda to anyone.

John was excellent. He fixed the problems I brought to him and also let me know what the next maintenance milestones will be. Great work, great mechanic.

Johns independent has been the worst car repair experience I've ever had. After finally returning my call after 1-3 days, he tells mee he's sorry but other new customers are keeping him busy. I'm sorry to say but I was first in line after waiting for her jobs before me to finish and now he things it's ok to put me at the back of the line because I allowed him to get away with it. Secondly, he couldn't give me a formal estimate of charges and instead just tells me that he thinks it will "roughly " cost such and such. Thirdly, he cracked my newly installed mugen body kit which was extremely expensive. It was cracked in the front because he was driving my car around. And to boot, he ever told me! There is so much unprofessionalism going on here that you're better off going to Honda.
