A-1 Battery Co. specializes in Batteries, oddly enough. The heat in Bakersfield is murder on any battery, particularly the "no-maintenace" types. A-1 stocks very good batteries, and they will do free rplacement and testing if you have any problems with their batteries. They will even do free charging system diagnostic checks on other shop's work. They provide delivery to your door, so you don't need to have your dead car towed to their shop. Dwight Tackett, the store owner, has 3 or 4 locations in Bakersfield. Their warranty backup is one of the best I have seen.

The Bakersfield heat is notoriously hard on battery life. Owning a Ford vehicle, or three, is also hard on batteries and charging systems. A-1 always did a great job of providing expert electrical systems repair. They sell an excellent replacement barrey. When it was time to buy a new car, I asked the shopman, "what kinds of cars do you Seldom see in here?" and that is one of the recommendations we got for our new Toyota.

They recycle all kinds of batteries also.

My husband steered me to them 25 years ago. They have
always talked to me the same as I have heard them talk to
men.....assuming I have some knowledge about cars (which I
do). I have stuck with them even after my husband died
because I know I can always trust them.
