Our Nissan Maxima developed a terrible gasoline smell for several days after refueling. We had taken it to the dealership several times and they never completedly resolved the problem. We even had it towed once when we found a puddle of gasoline under the car. The dealership took a fair amount of our money over the several times they "repaired" this problem. Soon after, we stared taking our cars to Gab's Auto for minor service. When we picked up our Maxima after an oil change, Gab mentioned that he noticed a gasoline smell coming from the car, and he replaced an o-ring that was apparently the culprit. By the way, there was no charge for that service on our bill. The leak and the smell never returned. That was 6 years ago and we have been very satisfied customers ever since. We own 4 vehicles: Nissan, Toyota, Lexus and Accura. He serveices them all. No more dealership services for us.

So I visited Gabe's after reading a review here. I took my F-150 there because it was making a clanking noise when I turned the wheel. I didn't have an appointment, but they took me after about 10 minutes. Gabe himself checked out my truck and discovered that the noise was from mudflaps I had installed incorrectly. He fixed them for me and had me out the door in no time. Amazingly, he didn't charge me at all!!! I tried to insist on paying him but he simply said "don't worry about it". Despite the fact that this whole thing had taken up half an hour of his time, he didn't think it was a big deal and just wanted to make sure I was happy. You don't see that everyday! He has earned my business now.

I was introduced to Gab's through a former co-worker in 2005. My husband and I have been customer's ever since. We take our vehicles (Dodge over 100,000 miles and Toyota over 70,000 miles) there for oil changes, for regular maintenance, and when problems arise with our vehicles which luckily has not occurred too often. I feel that Gab and his wife, Karen, are especially attentive to customer's needs. They are flexible with drop off and pick up times. Appointments are easy to schedule although Saturday appointments can fill up fast. Gab always contacts us to let us know what he found with the car, what he recommends and why, and an estimate. I've never felt pressured to make a decision right there and then. They are flexible, and I know I can also think things over or save money before taking the car back in for something. We have never had to leave our vehicle overnight, and, again, maybe we are just lucky, but even for some major issues we have dropped our vehicles off in the morning, and the vehicle is always ready by the early afternoon. I grew up in a small town in Ohio and always saw my parents have a close relationship with their mechanic. I am happy to say that even in Phoenix my husband and I have a close relationship with our mechanic.

I have a '92 Subaru and have always had a hard time finding good people to work on it. I won't even take it to the dealership cause they don't seem to know how to fix it either. I found Gab's on this site then found out a coworker takes all her cars to him. He is AMAZING! He doesn't give you a list of things that he "feels" need to be done to your car to increase your bill. Only what actually needs to be done. His price is EXTREMELY reasonable. I wasn't able to answer the question about how they react when they screw something up, because they have never screwed anything up. My car has 230,000 miles an it and thanks to Gab, it will last me even longer. :)
