When my future wife lived up the street a few blocks from the garage her subaru would not start. I told her that I thought Ken was a pretty good mechanic so she called him. Because she could not afford a tow and she lived up a hill from Ken's, Ken helped her push the car to his garage. Turns out the fuel pump wiring is shorting out. Instead of getting her to replace the fuel pump he rewires it for her saving her lots of money. If you need an honest mechancic who knows his stuff this is the place

Driving across the country from NC to CA we encountered not
only a flashing check engine light, but also a snowstorm in
Flagstaff... on a Sunday. Monday morning Ken's cleared the
snow and got the shop up and running and I was able to bring
in my VW for some new ignition wires and spark plugs.
Unfortunately nobody in Flagstaff had the wires for a '98
VR6 engine, so those were next day-ed and my buddy and I had
a great free day visiting the town. Tuesday the wires were
in and we were able to hit the road after lunch to continue
the trip.
The repairs needed were pretty simple, but Ken's was there
when I needed them and they were super-accommodating to fit
in some travelers like us.

Well, I had used this garage for many, many years and been very satisfied with their straightforwardness and good work - until recently. There's been a change with their scheduler and front desk person, and not for the better. The current person is rude, doesn't seem to know the business, and gives an appointment then doesn't honor it. I also had an experience a couple of oil changes ago where I was told that a couple of repairs were needed, expensive ones. I decided not to do them at that time, and have since learned that they were not needed. This is contrary to the philosophy the shop used to have of transparency and honesty. What can I say? I know of three other customers who have also recently gone elsewhere for some of these same reasons. What a shame to lose what was one of the best reputations in town!
