Went to Mike's Automotive today to get the ac unclogged and to see why the car was pulling to the left. It took about an hour or so, but he managed to pull out a major clog and fix the leaking problem. He then drove the car around and looked over it to make sure that it was just the alignment that needed to be done and then he told me I was good to go (a different shop in town does alignments). I kept talking to him and following him around waiting for him to tell me how much (although I had already found out weeks in advance that it was going to be about $70 in labor) but he just kept saying I was good to go. Finally I pulled out my card and said, 'well thank you, let me pay you then' and he held his hand up and shook his head, 'No, you're good.' I pleaded two or three times that he at least let me pay something for his time, but he insisted otherwise so I smiled, thanked him, and told him that I will remember him. And I will. This man has always been extra kind to us. We've had a couple of things on the car fixed at his shop. His prices were always extremely fair and he even went so far as to tell us when and where we could find parts for our car cheap online and therefore not have to pay him as much. He's always had a smile on his face and been courteous and straight forward. The least I can do is share this story in hopes to draw more business to him and I will continue to use his shop and to promote it. Yours truly, 2 happy customers, Sahreth & Ariel Bowden

I was considering buying a truck from a nearby used car dealer and ended up finding Mike's through Car Talk Mechanics Files. Called up and talked to Mike about doing a pre-purchase inspection. Mike was awesome. Very helpful and accommodating. Truck was dropped off to him 2 days later and he did a great job looking things over. Incredibly, he refused to take any money even though he spent the better part of an hour driving and looking over the truck. It was up on his lift and everything. The truck is on its way (we're 1,400 miles away in central NY) so I can't say for certain that Mike didn't miss anything but he was great to deal with and what a deal! He knew we were from far, far away so he can't expect repeat business and he still wouldn't take any payment.
