I went through three mechanics after moving from Austin TX to Portland ME before finding Carl. I have a '90 Nissan Sentra for which Carl's shop has done a variety of repairs from engine work to replacing the door hinges. He's considerate, open with information and a funny guy. And much appreciated by this female customer who knows enough about car repair to generally know when a mechanic is trying to palm off shoddy work.

They go out of their way to help you out. I've been going there for 4 years now, maybe longer. Started when I had a blue minivan that kept stalling out and just quitting, then starting up again for no apparent reason. Carl brought it in and kept working at it, and finally kept it, no charge, until he could work out the cause, which turned out to be a weird electrical thing arising out of a repair that I had had done in Minnesota 2 years earlier. I have worked with both Carl and Sara. They are patient, careful and real good at explaining what is wrong with the car. Carl's wife runs the books and gets parts. She just saved me $200 on replacement headlights by searching out salvage parts. They are now Young's Auto Service. They are good people.
