I love my mechanic Carl. He has kept my clunky old Mazda 323 on the road for years and we take our new Mazda Protege to him as well. The shop is right downtown, a two-minute walk from my work place; the job is always done right on time and on-budget; and he has fit me right in several times in an emergency. He even had one of his guys do some uninsured body work for me once, at less than half the price the body shops wanted, and the repaired area looks better than the rest of the car. (Is that a problem?) What a find!

They quoted me half of what another shop was trying to drag me along for. The bill was same as the quote, in addition they brought in a glass guy to install a new windshield. Very impressed.

From my ancient Saab 900 to my newer Saab 9-3 New England Imports has been there. They are great... they tell you the truth...understand people are on a to let you know what needs to be done before they do it...they are great at explaining exatly what they do. All in all a great place to take your car. I've refered quite a few people there and all seem to be as happy as I am.

Not once but TWICE we've talked to another mechanic about funny car behavior and got the news that it was probably something very expensive (like the head gasket). Then we took the car to Carl, bracing for $750 to $1,000+ repairs, and both times he gave us the great news that it was something tiny and easy to fix (or OK not to fix right away). He could have replaced the head gasket (which is expensive because of labor, not parts) and we never would have been the wiser. We don't call anyone else anymore. He has also saved us money with used parts and even showed us how to install a headlight lamp and didn't charge for time or the lamp. Don't expect to get into the shop right away unless it's an emergency, because lots of people love Carl, so he's often booked a week out.

These guys are the best in town. They have taken care of me and my car for many years and I could not be happier with their work. My car is now 18 years old, with 230K miles, and they keep it running like always.
