Honest mechanics. How many can you say that about? I've been to Mike Tyre's shop several times and they've been great every time. The best two stories: Old car, trying to decide whether to repair or junk it. I asked Mike, "I know there's a lot to be done, but what repairs do I need to make the car last just until Spring?" Spring was a good 8 months off, and I'd be coming into better financial circumstances then. He knocked stuff off the list and outlined the minumum repairs, and it went fine. Actually, the car's still running fine now, months after Spring. I was told my car had a trans leak. I took the car in, and all it was was a loose cap. They had to put the car up and waste a little man-time to fix it...no charge! Any other shop would charge an hour labor.

Since my personal contact with this shop has been limited, I may have missed some of the services they provide. However, I do feel that I may recommend them as an excellent shop. After hearing several friends' glowing testamonials I had my Suburban towed to their shop for an electrical problem that I couldn't solve. The work was done in a timely way and cost less than I could have hoped. On another occasion I waited in the shop while a pre-purchase inspection was done on a car that a friend was considering buying. I was able to watch the way everyone who was working there did their job (a big window even allowed a view of the shop area.) I was impressed. A grreat deal of work passed through the shop and was handled quickly and efficiently by each person in the chain. Multitasking is the norm. But the best thing was the way each customer was given real personal service. Kind, considerate personal service. Two elderly customers had their service explained to them thoroughly and patiently. Old parts were shown to a young mother (with kids in tow) and she was given a careful explanation of why they were replaced. All this while three delivery men, the mailman, and a towtruck driver made their deliveries and pickups ... again, each one getting individual attention according to his needs. This is how service should be. There is more ... just ask me.

Having a Saab is a wonderful thing... Fixing it is not. Mike has spent many hours keeping it running. He even spent 3 hours trying to figure out why the darned thing doesn' like to downshift into 2nd gear.... He said he really couldn't figure it out, but if I could live with it it would be ok - No Charge since he didn't fix anything! Nice guy, great work, reasonable shop costs.. Now if only he could get a better wholesale pricing for those Saabs....

We've been using Mike for almost 6 years now. He's worked on probably 6 of our cars. All that I can say, is great service and I love to recommend him.

I've been bringing all my vehicles to Mike Tyre for years, and I send all my friends to him. I trust him completely. He tells me, "You don't need brakes yet, you've still got 50% left" and he'll warn me when he spots something that should be fixed that I didn't know about.

Mike Tyre (really his last name) and his group are wonderful. I've taken two cars to him over the years, and referred many friends and family. They always go the extra mile, arranging rides and even helped me find a new car when that time came.

Tyre's Auto Repair was recommended by a colleague since I just moved in to the Baltimore area and I didn't where to go. What I really like about this place is that they treat me like an equal (and I don't get ripped off b/c I am a female driver!!) and they take the time to call me during the day and explain what needs to be repaired. When I come to pick up my car, the mechanic who worked on my car comes to the reception in order to give me more details. The mechanics are not only competent but also thorough as they inspect the entire car even if you just came for oil change. Now that I am moving to Arizona, I will have them make a complete inspection to ensure that my car can drive this distance!

Always a fair shake. I have taken in my cars, my wifes, my daughters and my mother in laws cars. I have also recommended them to friends and they also have a very high opinion.
