I used to go there all the time when I worked in Rockville. Their prices are excellent, and they stand by their work better than any mechanics I've ever encountered. They'd machined the rotors on my front brakes and replaced the pads, but after a few months I was getting grinding noises again. I took my car back to them, saying that I figured the rotors were just beyond machining at this point and probably needed to be replaced. I in no way thought they were responsible. When they called back, I figured they were going to give me an estimate, but instead they said "Well, the rotors were shot, but we think that they should've lasted longer after we machined them, so we've replaced the front rotors and pads for you, at no charge." I was flabbergasted.

They went over the "why" and "why not" of doing some repairs I requested and consequences of such. And they made some suggestions instead of "just doing it" for the bucks. Laid back; nice people. My first time there, but expect to return often as needed....

Found this shop listed in the "Mechanics Files" and I am pleased to say that I have had nothing but good experiences with these guys. I've taken my 99 Avalon to them for "well-car" check ups, brakes and odd noises and had satisfactory resolutions to the few car problems I have had.

First, I am a female! Like most females, I DREAD and DESPISE going to the car mechanic. They're condesending to our gender and I always come away thinking I've been taken to the cleaners. NOT THE CASE at Emerald City. They truely are over the rainbow! Honesty exudes from Wilbur and his shop! They've performed approx three major repairs ($500+), but when I priced checked the same repairs at the dealers, I saved approx. $200-$300+ each time. They've made a couple of minor repairs charging only for the part, and referred me to another repair shop where I save a little money - can you believe that! I found Emerald City thru cartalk.com - thanks guys!

Always very courteous and professional. Estimate is spot on, or below. Making appointments is very easy and when you need your vehicle serviced. They also have night drop off which makes appointments extremely easy to keep. Highly recommended.
