They were very helpful to me with my Maxima. They explained what was wrong, how it needed to be fixed, and how much it was going to cost. They also provided free services (cus i spent quite a bit to fix the car) like fluids and belts.

Found them thru a national towing insurance company and have been more than satisfied with their service, advice, help and personnel. As a female I have had many bad experiences over the years so I was leary at first but they have won me over to the point where I allow no one else to touch our van. Am I biased toward them? You bet! They've made me that way. They have never "screwed up" on a repair but I have no fear that they would make it right. They have been in business successfully for over 40 years and you don't stay that way by being sloppy. If you need to go there and watch them conduct business you find that they have many long term customers. Their rates are comparable to other repair facilities and LESS than a dealer I recently had to go to.

For the past 7 years I have been going to Protano's. They
always do a great job.. Most recently, when my car died on
the highway and I had it towed to them, they went the
extra mile to make sure I got hom esafely1

They have been reliable and compentent, honest and
reasonably priced for me for 25 years. Unfortunately, they
will stop operations in January 2006 and Bob Protano will
retire. However, Jim Gardner, the chief mechanic, will
open a new shop just up the road. Look for Gardner
