I have moved away from Steve's shop but still try to get my car there whenever I can if something is wrong. If you are looking for an honest, fair, capable mechanic, I highly recommend Steve. I cannot say that he always gets it right the first time but if he doesn't, he goes out of his way to fix it as fast as possible and obviously at no extra cost. I have multiple examples of Steve's fairness and honesty but to give just one - on my way home late at night my car starting bucking a bit and then started bogging down. When I gave it more gas it would bog down even more until it quit completely. I checked for spark and gas (had both), quickly gave up and had AAA tow it to Steve's garage. I left a message on his answering machine. Steve called me in the morning before the ride I had arranged for came to pick me up. He said it was fixed at a cost of $18. My car has a turbo and the intake hose had come off. Obviously Steve could have come up with some more expensive problems - but I have never felt like he has tried to do that at all.

I feel that Steve is honest in his work and prices. He has
always taken the time to explain the problem and possible
remedies. When the work is complete, he takes the time to
explain what he has done. Steve has also offered advice on
how to better care for my car when it's not in the shop.

Steve is a great guy! He is honest, explains everything,
looks around to get good deals on parts and the shop works
in a very timely manner. He made me feel very comfortable -
I am a woman. When it comes to "time worked" on the vehicle
- he is very fair.
I have recommended him to several friends and they have all
told me they had a good experience going to Steve's shop.

I have used Steve since he opened his own shop @1992 and
have always had excellent results. When he can he will fix
the problem first, not simply start ordering new parts.
His estimates are reasonable and usually on target, both
for cost to fix and time to fix. His shop is directly
across from a Wakefield commuter rail stop, and he also has
several loaner cars available, given enough notice. Over
the years he has not only saved me considerable time and
money, and, just as important, he is very reliable and
dependable. I live in Boston, but have no qualms about
driving up to Wakefield to take advantage of his services.
I am not saying that everything always works out perfectly
and doesn't cost me much money - but he is realistic and
honest and more often than not will locate the problem
quickly and fix it as inexpensively as possible.
