I found John by using this site and I have to agree with the original poster. John is extremely friendly, very reliable and totally honest. He won't feed you a line or tell you that you need more work than you do. (like many other places) He did excellent work on my Chrysler, I don't think it has ever run better. I will definitely take all my cars to him in the future. The only thing I can add to the original poster is that he is still in the same location but he is now in the phone book and he has a sign above the door of the shop. But if you didn't know he was there you probably wouldn't find him. His number is 508-753-3104 so if you need work on your car you can't do better.

I've gone to John for 15 years with every vehicle in my family. He's never messed anything up (didn't get it quite right the first time once, but fixed it immediately for no cost). He is honest, and gives good estimates. Stands behind his work. He'd rather not do a costly repair if there's a possible inexpensive answer to a problem. Uses all the latest tools and equipment. Finding him is a chore :{) He's located in the rear of the Thomas's Auto Parts building on Rt9. No sign or anything, not even in the Yellow pages. Just go around back next to the Post Office loading dock, walk in the garage bay and shout "Hey, John!". Local guy who worked for big car dealers until he'd had enough and started on his own.

I have used John for 7 years now and was treated great. You can't beat the price, and he is honest as the day is long. My father dropped his car off to have work done a few times and was told that he has another 6 months to a year before the repairs were needed. Firestone told him that he needed rear struts; he took it to John and was charged less than 100 bucks for a bushing that was bad. Struts are fine to this day. He won't put anything in your car that you don't need. I just wish he was closer. Well worth the 15 mile trip.
