I had the pleasure of meeting Joe at Little Red Tow Trucks
this past July 5. I had what I thought was clutch problems
before I left, which turned into the car stalling a couple
times just as I got over the Sagamore Bridge. I was able to
get my car over to the gas station near the McD's - with a
mechanic's shop, Little Red Tow Trucks. I had my 17 year
old cat with me, and it was very hot out. Joe helped me out
right away and was able to diagnose the problem and send me
on my way to get my cat home (else I would have stayed to
let him fix it). Joe is an old-school guy ... been at that
shop for 45 years since he was a kid. Right away he said, 'naw,
it's not the clutch', to my great relief. He tapped around
on the inside of the engine a few places (mass air flow
sensor), hooked up the computer, and voila, narrowed it down
to the Throttle Position Sensor. He advised me that the car
would probably make it back to ~ 70 miles (all highway) and
that it might stutter a bit on hills. He was right. 55 bucks, and I was on my way with a better peace of mind, and a happy
old cat :o) Thanks Joe!
