Paul Ferry owns his own shop in Malden and he is extremely honest, hard-working and never overcharges. My family has been going to Paul's for the past several years and we've never had a problem or a complaint (other than I feel he undercharges me sometimes). How honest is Paul? A few years ago I sold Paul my Chevy Cavalier stations wagon (with several oil leaks and 20% body rot) for $50 and a few oil changes. I thought I got a great deal. Almost a year later my sister was at Paul's getting some work done and he handed my sister $50 and told her it was mine. He fixed up the car and sold it for more than he expected so that was my half of the sale. My sister told him that we would never had known what happen to the car, but he insisted. I moved to New York City in December of '96 and took my car with me. Whenever I need work done, I take a day off from work and drive the 4 hours just to see Paul. Why? Becuase he's honest and I trust him.

I discovered Paul thru cartalk and when I went there I thought I needed a new transmission. He easily could have convinced me of this but instead he advised me to change the filter and the car is running. He charged a very reasonable 95 for the job and I had it the same day.

Paul is a great mechanic. I found out about him through
cartalk.com. He is extremely trustworthy. Most of the times
he is able to get the car back in the same day and if he
can't he is up front and tells you. He is one of the best
mechanics I been to.

My car had a brake failure and I had it towed to Paul's one
afternoon. He had a very reasonable estimate for me the
same afternoon and the brakes were repaired by 10AM the
following morning. Overall, an excellent experience!

I recently left the Malden area and I was sorry to lose such a good mechanic. Paul was personable, honest, fair and worked hard to keep prices down. I would strongly recommend him to anyone in need of a good mechanic. The shop is in a safe neighborhood and is a 15 minute walk to the Malden Center orange line T stop.

After reading the reviews here on cartalk.com I decided to
go to Paul's for my first brake job on my 2004 Mazda 6. When
I dropped it off at 8am, Paul was there to check in the car
and answer any questions. He was very informative about what
it might take and how long. After that one of his guys even
gave me a ride to the Malden Center T!!
Later in the morning he gave me a call with the price and
said it would be done by the end of the day. In that time he
also did an oil change, mounted a new tire, and even plugged
another one that he found a hole in without me even asking.
I picked it up at 5:30 and everything was great.
Overall, I was very pleased. There were no surprises, the
price was good, and he went above and beyond on several
levels. He also takes all major credit cards which was nice,
because my last mechanic didn't take Discover or AMEX. He
passed my standards so I plan to make Paul's Foreign Auto my
new mechanic!

I needed the rotors and pads replaced in my 2005 Saturn Ion.
The dealer was going to charge me $575, which was more than
a little excessive.
After reading reviews, I came to Paul's and he quoted me a
price hundreds lower and stuck with it. I dropped it off in
the early evening and was able to pick it up the next day
after work (he actually called when it was ready but I
couldn't leave that early).
It's a bit of a hike near the Malden Center T stop, but not
bad at all.
Paul was honest with me and treated me with respect. I will
definitely return should I need repairs again!

Paul has serviced our Camry for four years including major
repairs(eg.,timing belt, brakes, tune up)as well as routine
work. He has always been direct, efficient, reasonable and
does explain what he is doing and why.

Paul is a very honest, friendly person. He test drove a prospective car we
purchased, giving the dealership a list of things to look at before we bought
it, and saving us money. He has even told us when work did not need to be
done or could wait.

Without a doubt, Paul Ferri is one of the most honest,
competent, intelligent, reasonable, and friendly car
mechanics (and human beings) I've ever had the pleasure to
know.
He bends over backwards to honor any and all pormised he
makes. And, whenever I've had an expensive part break, Paul
was always completely willing to locate and install much
less expensive used parts whenever it made sense to do so.
On very rare occasions, Paul did not complete the repair on
time, or fix it correctly the very first time. However, in
nearly all cases, the problem was due to circumstances
entirely beyond his control.
Indeed, my only real gripe is that I wish Paul's repair
facility was open on Saturdays.
And, considering the many faults of the numerous other car
mechanics I've used in the past, Paul is the absolutely the
best. I heartly recommend him to everyone.
