I was going to make a cross-country trip and wanted my car checked out and the oil changed. The mechanics spent at least an hour and a half looking at my car, gave me a full report, and charged me much too little! I offered more but they declined.

Car Tech has been fabulous. When I first moved here, one shop gave me an estimate of over $500 for a brake job. Car Tech did the repairs for about $100. A couple of months ago I needed a new starter. The one they installed was faulty, and they replaced it with no hassle. A couple of weeks later when I needed a brake job, they did it for the cost of parts (no labor) because of the trouble I had with the starter. They always call before doing repairs, answer questions I have, and never keep the car more than a day (unless they can't get the parts). They don't charge for diagnosis, and they don't give "estimates" - they tell you what it will cost, and that's what it costs.

They aren't close to public transportation mainly because we don't have any (suburb of Baton Rouge). The hours are okay - they close at 5:30 and aren't open Saturday, so it's hard to get there after work sometimes. BUT, the service is excellent, honest, and fair.
