Dub runs his shop right before the entrance to the Belle Chasse Tunnel on the West Bank of New Orleans. I had a 12 year old Escort (yes, Escort) that I used as my "shipyard car". Obviously, things would routinely break down. I once took the car, and told Dub what I thought was wrong (I don't remember what I guessed it to be now, but I expected about a $500 repair)...instead I was relieved when I returned and he told me that my battery had simply been damaged in a recent fender bender (total repair: about $25). And, he had replaced the turn indicator handle that I had lost and had jury-rigged with a hollow paint brush with a real one for free. Highly recommended!

The last name is Beasley. Dub Beasley Automotive. Dub worked on my cars from 1988 until I moved in 2001. He often fixed stuff for free. When I traveled for work, and my wife had a problem, which happened a few times, he took care of her like she was family. He is a blunt, staight shooter, he will charge you what you owe him, but no more.
