I had trouble with my 92 Ranger stalling. First tried the local Goodyear, they recommended I take it to the local Ford dealer. The dealer hooked it to some diagnostic equipment for $70, and said it showed nothing. Then gave me a laundry list of things they wanted to try ($400+ worth of things I had already tried). When I questioned the service guy, he got real nasty. Don't think he liked dealing with anyone, who didn't just want to bend over and take it. So I tried Tackett's, and they had it for several days. And they charged me $400, but they got to the real problem. It was the fuel pump. Something not easily changed, since it's in the fuel tank. They did have to take it back to realign the fuel fill hose, but they did it promptly. I don't mind paying big bucks to get something fixed, as long as they do it right and that's what Tackett's did.

These guys are good at repairing any make of cars. There pricing is over the top. They charge for every little thing they do to the car from test driving to scratching their heads. Before dropping my vehicle off for repairs I went into lengthy detail what the car was doing to cause me to break down on the side of the road. After learning the cost to repair was equal to Dealer pricing I ask the guys to just let me pay them for looking at the car. The cost was over $80.00. I was prepared to pay for looking but they charged me test driving. Yes, after explaining the problems. Charge was between $25 and $40.

Over priced service. Although the work performed is good they charge for everything. After explaining in detail the problem with my car they charge me over $50 buck just to drive it after talking to me. Wow. I think money drive this business more than it should.
