Slimmer's has been a great shop. They work hard to give you a good deal and are honest about what does and doesn't need to be done on your car.

I don't live in Lawrence any more, but I made a point of taking my car to Pat Slimmer right before moving because I wanted to be sure that everything had the best possible care before heading into territory where I couldn't count on such wonderful repair service. I have recommended him to many people in Lawrence and the universal response, after people have taken their cars to him, has been that he is the best and fairest mechanic they have ever dealt with. I can only hope a find a counterpart in my new hometown.

Honest. They have actually told us we did NOT need repairs after bringing the van in with the "check engine" light on.

As a young, female, college-age person, Slimmer has always treated me with respect and dignity (even when I screw up and can't fix something). I appreciate their willingness to diagonse the problem, then give the car back to me so I can attempt to work on it myself. (and their kindness to take the car back and fix what I couldn't.) They take time to explain the problem so that even I can understand it. And they charge a fair price. They do good work, and I'm going to miss them when I have to move up to Montana. Thanks Slimmer!

Everyone at Slimmer's has always been great. When I got in an accident and turned my car over in a creek they helped me through the process of repair, gave me a ride home, and when asked, they offered their advice about insurance and dealing with a salvage title, too. They give their opinions and advice but have never pressured me into more repairs than needed. They seem to honestly care about their customers.

Good auto-woe empathy, high marks in the human dignity department. Very capable crew of mechanics. Tom and Ray are Slimmer's Massachussetts outpost.
