Address: 864 W. State Rd. 25, Lafayette, IN 47905 Phone: (765) 474-8645 Walter himself is a german import. The property is filled with project cars, many of which are destined to provide parts. It is a family business with "Mother" running the office and son Andy growing into the business. Walter has kept two cars of mine running for a total of about 600,000 miles. He treats the ladies especially well. With his old world sense of chivalry, a male customer is at a distinct disadvantage.

Walter and his family run the best VW/Porsche shop we have
ever encountered. He takes the best of care of my wife's
1972 911T and has always kept our VWs operating with top,
safe performance. They also keep our daughter's SAAB running
trouble free. They are absolutely the best!

Walter is simply the best mechanic if you have a German car and live in the
Lafayette, Ind., area. (He works on Japanese models, too.) His son, Andy, is
pretty good as well. I brought my Jetta TDI there for service several times, and
they both were always fair with me. After I became a regular, Walter even let
me use one of the numerous old Mercedes sitting around while he worked on
my car. And when I finally decided to get a new car, he bought my TDI from
me. I can't say enough good things about Walter and Andy. The only
downside to his shop is that it's not exactly conveniently located, and the
nearest bus stop is a mile or so walk away. So get a friend to drop you off.
You won't regret it. Walter is fair, honest and really knows his stuff. It's the
best place in town to bring a foreign car. The only reason I haven't been back
for a while is that the new car I bought in 2006 has never needed any service
other than regular maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations).
