I dropped off my 1977 Ford LTD Landeau at 5 in the morning before work with having never spoke with the shop. He found time to check out the antifreeze leak, access the problem and give me a quote by 2pm. The car was fixed and running like new the next morning. I found Al to be a friendly mechanic who gave me an honest price and timely service.

I just did a review. The think that tickles me about Al and Cooprider is a few years ago (15?) Al started expanding--hiring more mechanics and even an office person. Then I had a new car and didn't see him for a few years. When I came back it was just him. I suspect he discovered he'd rather run his business than have his business run him.

I have nearly always owned older cars and have taken them to Al at Cooprider's for 15 years. He has always been insightful in his diagnosis, reasonably priced and stands behind his work. In addition, I have come to rely on his complete honesty. Several times over the years I have essentially given him a "blank check," saying, "I have no idea what is causing problem X, but please fix it," only to have him find a simple cause for a $20 or "no charge" repair. If something doesn't need to be fixed, he says so, even if it's a slow day. Recently I have been able to move up to newer cars. He is able to watch over them just as well.

Al at Cooprider is phenomenal! I drive a 94 Honda Civic and it has been through a lot! On top of that, I'm a female, so I'm always worried that a mechanic may try to take advantage of me by charging me too much. When I was experiencing problems with my car Al was open and honest about what was wrong and only fixed what was necessary. The price was very reasonable and the service I received was great. I was so pleased with my experience I took my car back a second time when I was having problems with my exhaust. Al told me it would cost $400 if he had to fix it and he recommended that I take my car to a specialty shop that could have it fixed for less than $200. Al not only saved me more than $200 but he also dropped the car off there for me at no charge because I didn't have a ride! Because of that, I will always take my car back to Al if have any future issues. I strongly recommend Cooprider Auto Service to those looking for an honest, experienced and friendly mechanic who cares about his customers!

Al ROCKS! I have dealt with Al for a few years now, with a couple of different vehicles. I have no reservations with recommending him. I've always found him to be dedicated and honest. The work has been beyond reproach.

Al at Cooprider is the kind of mechanic you hope that you can find at least once in your life. I have been taking my car to him for 5 years ever since I discovered him on this search engine of Car Talk web site. He is so honest that I feel I have to beg him to take my money. On an older car that is not worth putting a lot of money into, he will give you honest cost-saving options for repairs. He is very honest and very competent. I dread the day that he retires and I have to find a new mechanic.
