if you want a good auto repair team, chuck's auto is the place to go. they have a 4day to 1wk line, so i recommend calling ahead and making an appt (if you can). i own a 13 yr old vw, and they've treated me right the 3-4 times i've been there. reasonably priced, too.

I now go to Chuck's for both our Toyota and Olds. He's probably the most honest and reasonably priced mechanic I've ever experienced in my nearly 50 years of driving!

I learned about Chuck years ago when the dealer could not fix my Corolla. They sent all their tough problems to him. Now I just bypass the dealer entirely and go straight to the source. Chuck and his mechanics have worked on many makes and models for me, sedans, vans, pick- ups. I never worry that I'll be sold things I don't need. Chuck has helped several times in emergencies, even a Saturday water pump replacement for my sister-in-law who couldn't make it back to Ohio without the repair. I recommend Chuck's to all my friends for repairs and for honest deals on used cars, too.

My youngest daughter bought an older VW from Chuck. As expected some problems develop with a 15 or so year-old car. Although he was in no way obligated to do so, Chuck took care of problems which he said "We should have caught that before we sold it." He takes very good care of all his customers, is totally honest, does not do any unncessary repairs, and I recommend him to anyone for any type of automobile. Now...I just hope these favorable reviews don't give him too big a head or get the shop too busy to take care of me! <s>

I took my 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan to Chuck. I was experiencing a light knocking noise in the front end when turning the steering wheel. Chuck got my car in quickly (without an appt) and quickly diagnosed the problem. He said the strut mounts were going bad, but did not need to be replaced just yet. He explained what to listen for to know if they were getting worse. He then told me how much it would cost to fix when they needed it. He could have told me the repair needed done that day and I would have done it. I really appreciated his honesty and dedication.

I have had many vehicles of different types repaired by Chuck over the years. I feel they are honest, don't do unnecessary work, and very competent. He is busy, so you may have to schedule ahead, but one of the best independent shops I know of in the DeKalb/Sycamore area.

Chuck's Auto has been my primary service center for more than 20 years. I've always been satisfied with the service provided. They never recommend things that are not needed, always offer options, are great at spotting problems before they become serious. They never push things like a new air filter with every change (are you listening, quickie lub joints?) Chuck is totally honest and reliable. I've even bought two cars from his sales unit. My daughter in Pittsburgh wishes she had a Chuck out there. I send everyone I know to Chuck (and he doesn't know I'm making this recommendation.)

I don't know much about cars and can be a little naive. I knew I needed to get my serpentine belt changed (not even sure if i spelled that right!) so I called Chuck's because I had heard good things. They estimated it would cost 80 dollars. When I picked the car up, they said they realized it cost a lot less than the original estimate. I was very pleased with their honesty. I would have paid the 80 dollars and asked no questions so I'm grateful I went to such an honest place. Sometimes they can be a bit slow with repairs, but it's a fair exchange for the honesty and good work.
