I've known Bryan for about 10 years. He is a great guy and
a great mechanic, and worked at an independent Volvo shop
for about 25 years before opening his own garage in 2005.
I've never had a Volvo, so I just started being a customer
of his in 2005. He's worked on our Toyota Land Cruiser,
BMW 750iL, and Saab 9-2x (really a Subaru). The only
reason he hasn't always fixed the BMW the first time is
because he's very cost concious, and is waiting for a
rebuilt/used igniter part for the HID-Xenon headlights to
become available since a new one would cost hundreds of
dollars.
I recommend Bryan without hesitation.

If you live in Evanston or Wilmette, this is the only place
to ever take your car for repairs.

Bryan's a great guy and a fabulous mechanic. He only fixes
what needed and stands by his work!

Bryan (Caspersen) was with a Volvo specialist repair-shop
for many years before he set up his own garage. He
specializes in Volvo, Lexus and BMW but he and his small
crew would, I guess, tackle most any car.
He has looked after my 2000 BMW wagon for about a year.
Previously I'd always gone to the dealer where I bought it,
good workmanship there too but expensive and I seldom saw
the same person twice. Having "my own mechanic" is a great
luxury.

By far the best repair shop I have experienced.

Highly trustworthy. Friendly staff. Only fix what needs
fixing. If you live in Evanston, Winnetka, Wilmette,
Glenview or Skokie, Bryan's is the place to take you car for
service!

I've gone to Bryan's Garage a few times. The pluses of
Bryan's are:
1. Very reasonable prices
2. 100% honest and reliable
3. They only fix what needs to be fixed and don't try and
sell you unnecessary services.
The only minuses are:
1. The hours of operation are somewhat limited compared to
other shops
2. You need to make an appointment, and sometimes it takes
several days to fit you in the schedule.
Overall, a great place, the only place I will go to in this
area.

My mother-in-law has taken her cars to Bryan's for years,
and now we take our cars there, too. We've had a Dodge, a
Buick and now a Toyota, so they have a knowledge base beyond
Volvos and other makes I saw mentioned previously. Every
one of the people we've dealt with there has been
incredibly helpful and even downright friendly. The work
they do is sound, priced reasonably, and done in a very
timely manner. (No boat shoes here!)
The only complaint I have is that they're hard to get to,
considering we live in Chicago and they're located in
Evanston (if only more mechanics were this reputable!). My
husband often drives the car to them and then takes the
train/bus back and forth afterwards. Make sure to call
ahead before going in. Their reputation precedes them and
they're often booked.

Had used them despite high rates. Then they communicated so poorly on an engine repair that it cost me an extra week and >$500 more than it should have. And then they refused to do anything but argue. When an subsequent issue arose, they claimed it had nothing to do with the earlier repair. What's more, is that they are often rude on the phone. I will not return.
