This is a family business which has been around for over 40 years. The original owner (Frank Sr.), now a grandfather, still likes to come into the shop and talk to customers even though he's no longer on active duty. The son, Frank Jr., (and current owner) employs his wife at the front desk, and I've watched his sons grow from little tykes who visited and "helped" Dad at the shop into their jobs as expert mechanics at the shop. The walls are filled with letters of appreciation, certificates from the family's many seminars in auto repair, family photos, and the local sports teams that the Cairas sponsor. Frank Jr. also teaches auto repair at the local college (Triton College). If you go to Caira's even once, chances are very good that you'll become a customer for life. They care as much about your car as they would for their own family's cars. Prices are reasonable, and the work is excellent. They will even keep a straight face when you try to imitate the strange sounds that your car is making when you bring it in. I have moved from the area, and now drive 50 miles to Caira's - just for an oil change. They will do everything they can to accommodate you even when they are extremely busy, and I have watched them do everything they can to even help walk-ins who are having car trouble when the shop is swamped. As someone (and a female) who has suffered more than her fair share of lousy mechanics, I feel as if there will be a special place in Mechanic's Heaven for these folks.

They fixed my steering u-joint. Since it was old and rusted they had to take the extra effort. They took care of this problem quickly. They also gave me a list of other items that needed to be repaired. So I had them fix the brakes the following week.
