Fred's Auto Repair is one block south of US Highway 30, The old Lincoln Highway. He has helped more than one stranded motorist get on their way when difficulties arose. Like most very good mechanics Fred has more demand for his services than there is Fred to go around. That is why sometimes it will take longer than I expect to get my car fixed. He would rather help people with an emergency rather than work on my junk. (The audacity!) I drive $500.00 cars. So I just use one of my spares -(85 ranger, 89 celebrity wagon, 88 Ford Taurus, I sold my 75 Dart to my brother for $100)- when one car is in the shop. Fred keeps insisting that I buy something better for him to work on. But its because of the quality of cars that I have that I have developed such a deep longlasting relationship with my mechanic, Fred. (In other words something I have ALWAYS needs fixing.) He is very fair, honest, and friendly. See the marks I gave him above. He also has no idea that I'm putting him on this list. So don't say anything about it. He'll quit working on my junk if he finds out I did anything to make him busier. Ben from Iowa.
