Don't let the name fool you. "Eddie" is a son who is in the car customizing and restoration business. His father (Ed) has many years experience working on Honda and other Japanese makes. They don't try to sell you any unneeded repairs. I strongly recommend these guys.

I took my car to Eddie's thinking that the starter had gone bad. Eddie later called to let me know that the starter was, in fact, fine and that the problem was just a few loose wires which he repaired at a cost of $37. Had he replaced the starter and charged me hundreds of dollars I would have never known since my car was acting like it had a bad starter (i.e. not turning over despite fully functioning electrical components) They also replaced my breaks & rotors with original factory parts and the repairs were completed the same day I dropped it off.

My family has been bringing our Hondas to Eddie for a long time, and they have always been honest and up front about what needs to be done with the cars. Having recently moved to Minneapolis, I had some car trouble and went to a local shop, where they recommended many different repairs. I called Eddie back in Cedar Rapids, and he told me which I should get done and the prices I should expect. I would recommend their service to all Honda owners!

The day after we found Eddie's they saved us $500 and restored my Wife's faith in auto mechanics. In truth, these are car geeks who want everyone to know more and keep their cars in great shape. We found Eddie's when my Wife's Honda had brake sqealing. The other mechanic shop (who we had always gone to before) she went to treated her like a stupid little girl, at first refused to believe there was a problem, and then offered to replace her calipers for $700. When she talked to Ed he treated her respectfully and told her that for her vehicle it was common to have a shim problem, where some things needed cleaned up and shaved. Since then we have used them for routine maintenance, diagnostics, body work, and inspections. All of our family in the area go there and I recommend them with no reservations to anyone with a Japanese car or doing hot-rod work.
