My Mazda 626 had been to the dealer in Ames 6 times for the same problem, stalling. It sometimes would not restart for an hour or more. The dealer wanted to charge me every time so I started to look for another shop. I was told that the owner at Anksorus Auto Repair was fair and a former Mazda mechanic. I made an appointment and took the car in, within an hour they had called me and found the problem. It was under $100. Ironically the same price the dealer charged me every time I went in with the problem. They called it a diagnostic fee. I think it was a get rich quick fee.

We have gone to Barry for at least 15 years, with multiple cars. He didn't even charge us for anything until about the fifth visit. He does a great job and is inexpensive. We trust his judgment completely when it comes to car repairs.

Barry will try to find used parts for an old car, rather than going for a high priced new part. We have had situations where there were intermittant problems, but he kept after them until they were found and corrected. He is very fair.
